  1. Selling a Detective 93 in the marketplace... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8698080#Post8698080
  2. Agreed - and a simple note saying hello and here's an update goes a long way...
  3. One of my favorites. Should have never auctioned this one: Great looking copy, to bad that you parted with it. I think I had that book in my sights several months ago and I just gave up on it as it climbed higher and higher at the time. If its the same one I can say that I've regretted not jumping in on it at the last second. Great book.
  4. I saw you're looking for a Suspense Comics 11.... here's one for you!!!
  5. That's a great looking book, Eric, and one of the strongest covers. Hey guys, is it just me, or do these PCH books get short changed by CGC compared to earlier Golden Age books? CGC 7.5 starts to look like a very high grade book for PCH. Thanks Michael. I've wanted this book for a long time and as soon as I have it in hand I'll be able to determine if it's worth a re-submission. .....if you do re-sub it, do NOT look inside at the stories while it's out of the slab, o/w it might never get slabbed again.... GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u That's why I need a reader.... got one for me?

  7. Probably not quite nice enough to go nutz, but I always have liked it since finding it (about 10 years ago now.) I'd go nutty over that copy! Nice! Thanks Jayman! If I'm not mistaken, your copy is as nice or better. Jay has the lone variant copy in the world - priceless. Hee, Hee, Hee...it's all mine!
  8. Just checked... It was $2390, but for a CGC 6.0, not 6.5. Though as Jim notes, it's quite a nice one for the grade. Wow! Agreed.
  9. I think it was around $2400.00. Did you see the 24?? That was one of the nicest 7.5's I've ever seen.
  10. Pretty book... but the price??? Thoughts?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/371276207221?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  11. It's definitely an interesting bit of Mirage history thats for sure. By and large, the main reason for the desire (and dollar value) for the original run of Gobbledygooks 1 & 2 is the presence on the back cover of the TMNT ad (that many argue is the first appearance of the TMNT). These protos do not feature that key back cover image, front cover as well, and the guts are similiar but still different. So I can't help but wonder what exactly the ceiling on these might be longterm. No doubt with just a few copies out there there will always be demand...but I can't help but feel these are more Mirage Studios history than Turtles history, which I know are nearly one and the same, but still not quite. Theres a bunch of pre-tmnt Eastman and Laird work out there that go for comparative pennies (even though while not quite as limited as these, still with VERY low print runs) and I honestly can't help but feel that these protos are more akin to that work than the TMNT. I'm sure im in the minority on this, and I didn't want to say anything to potentially spoil the auction with my thoughts before it ended, but I just can't help but shake this sort of strange reaction I have to the book. I've had it ever since it was first offered to me and I can't quite put my finger on it. Regardless, its an uber rare book which is still a very cool thing! As you pointed out it may very well turn out to be more Mirage Studios history than Turtles history...but to me, it's value, not its cost, is derived from being an "uber rare" and historical piece, and that is why I believe it to be a fantastic purchase for the winning bidder.
  12. Not shabby for a low grade 1980s book with no staples! It's a good number and it could be the single wisest long term hold for any collector.
  13. I was praying everyone had forgotten about this book....
  14. I'll be listing some great higher grade PCH CGC Universal books over the weekend - a Mystery Tales, Strange Tales, Marvel Tales and maybe a Horrific..... and then there might just be a few more....
