  1. Some splash / key Vertigo interiors from the 90s-00s could crack 5 figures.
  2. Well, the SoK page that blew up to $9K or so was the complete opposite (less important from a story / issue / firsts perspective, but artistically amazing and a memorable moment). Preacher may just be a series where pages with badass moments, action and Ennis dialogue outsell pages that just tick the usual nerdy collector boxes.
  3. I was definitely surprised the #1 page stayed under $4K. Heritage had a sticker on it at NYCC, estimating it at "7500+". That number seemed crazy, but I figured they knew something I didn't. On the other hand, if you put aside all the reasons it's important (all three main characters, 1st Duke, 1st issue), it is a bit bland.
  4. I totally misread his signature as Chick fil A. I think I need to eat lunch now.
  5. Someone should try to buy the rights off Spencer. Seriously, Bedlam had one of the best first issues I've ever read. Totally worth rebooting.
  6. This isn't a big deal to me. It's a nothing page otherwise.
  7. I fundamentally disagree with this post. You certainly can. In fact, I just did!
  8. @Dealers eBay / CLink certainly don't discriminate against 90s art
  9. NYX #3 is the first appearance. Wolverine 80 is a neat curiosity, kinda like Baby Cable in X-Men 201.
  10. Great news. 5G is my favorite light read when it's coming out - just a really fun book.
  11. I thought 181 was damaged but not lost.
  12. The Ultimate Fallout 4 regular cover exists (with Miles' head visible). Don't know about the interior pages.
  13. One of these three covers has already been sold for over $40K in the past.
  14. If everyone on this board is coming in at $15K, I'll take the over. The book is an $850 CGC 9.8 modern that is not a variant, condition rarity or super low print run book. That's extremely tough to pull off. The character is one of the most popular of the modern era, already well represented in a killer movie that I'm sure will spin her off into the rest of the X-universe. This is her true first appearance. The art is pencil-only, BUT there are no missing elements or details other than blurry Photoshop filters. The concept pieces would probably also allow the buyer to recoup a couple Gs if they were so inclined. Quality of the art also matters a bit less when it's a memorable first appearance (see Trimpe, Herb). Also, I had to google the NYX 4 cover - this is the one I remember. BTW, $60K is nuts. I'll go $25K.
  15. I once bought a dealer's inventory of bronze horror pages (an area I have no interest in) for $10 a page on average. Those days are mostly gone, although I'm sure there are exceptions. These days, I buy what I like and usually end up reselling at a moderate profit in a couple years if and when I get a better example. There will always be opportunities for people who invest enough time scouring listings and making offers though. It just takes more effort than sitting back and waiting for cheap art to come up on your CAF notifications (not likely to happen).
  16. Wow, I remember that GPK! Cool piece despite the lousy resto job. I can't see it being worth anywhere close to the ask though.
  17. He looked much better than the 'NOW' pic above when I saw him at NYCC '15. He's also been cranking out OA pinups and doing some signings lately, so hopefully he's figured out at least some of his health problems.
  18. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the actor likenesses on the free version. I mean Steve nailed them, but they just look out of place on the comic. Probably because I don't like the show much. The variant at the top of this thread looks great.
  19. I'm waiting to trade-binge this one. Definitely looking forward to it as I've only heard good things.
  20. Not really enough content to tell if it's going to be good or not IMO. I'll read #2 though for sure.
  21. Anybody have a first printing? I don't care about the book, but this is the first time I've heard of a second printing shipping first in place of a missing(?) first printing. Kind of interested to see how it plays out.
  22. Dude, even if it's a one man operation, it's well worth their time to go through the 5/600 virgin 'secret' variants and pull the 9.8s. It should take maaaybe an hour to pull the best copies out of that size lot.
  23. I think it's just this board. There's very little interesting discussion going on here lately.
