I really love the old pre-Unity Valiant books, so I picked up a nice Harbinger #0 page from David Lapham.
David was nice enough to unexpectedly include a funny (and free) sktech of Harada (the Valiant universe's telepathic uber-villian)...

Here are a couple nice ones I put together at Heroes Con. Thanks as always to Kevin Boyd for his help!
9.4 Signed by Sienkiewicz (I got a 9.6 too but haven't scanned it yet):
Cool Warren Ellis book:
My favorite current book, Ex-Machina signed by the entire creative team:

That Enrich painting is simply BEAUTIFUL! Contgrats.

I miss them already
Guess I should post the other end of the trade while I'm here! Here's what I got from Jon:
Charles Vess Books of Magic #3 Morpheus Page
Of course I threw in a couple $$$'s too

Wow, GREAT pickup Fred!
-
Nice - Probably the best interior in the series!
-
Great Bolland! I really thought about bidding on that one when it was on Heritage.
-
If you ever track down the next page in issue 32 (Jesse in the movie theater), they would look really cool together. Just a random thought...
-
Good one! You should be posting 2 more any day now...

If anyone knows more about this image, please let me know.
This piece has been available from that seller for about 3 years. The price has come way down from his original $750 ask.
The piece does not appear in the Crow series. It MAY appear in the soon-to-be-released* Director's Cut TPB of 'The Crow', along with a hundred or so unused pages.
That's a decent grab, at that price. I tracked the auction because I knew someone would hit the BIN, and I wanted to see how long it would take. Not to go all Delos Santos** on you, it's a great piece but the back shot is always a tough buy for me.
*a book that has been 'soon to be released' for about 5 years now. Maybe someday, but not soon.
** one who gives backhanded/left handed compliments, usually involving the phrase, 'I passed on this, but good to see it again/good to see it found a good home'.
Awesome. That's just about all the info I was looking for! I'm happy with the back shot for $200, especially since the piece is vintage and cheaper than some of the kinda iffy stuff that O'Barr has done in the last couple years.
Just out of curiosity, does the seller have a website where the piece was up for sale or was it available via ebay auctions?

Cool piece! (Sorry, I know nothing about the Crow, so I couldn't even guess...)
Thanks! I've honestly never even read the graphic novel(s), but it's one of my fav movies. Now I'll have to buy the TPB.
-
Haven't received this one yet, but I just popped a $200 BIN on eBay for it this morning and am pretty excited about it. I've been looking for a nice piece from the original Crow series (i.e. not from the 10,000 crappy mini-series that have come out since) for quite some time.
I have no idea if/where this image was published, but it's cool as hell and predates Caliber Presents 1 (the Crow's 1st appearance) by a year and predates the movie by 6.
Here's the link to the auction. If anyone knows more about this image, please let me know.

And finally, this isn't REALLY a sketch, but it's the closest to one that anybody got from McTodd at the NYC Con. Thanks to Kris "thecollector" for his help in hooking this up:
-
I also picked up this sweet Jae Lee Batman head sketch from his signing at the ACTOR booth. Jae's a really cool guy.
-
Here's my best pickup from my short stay at the NYC Con. This is the splash from issue 10 of Ex Machina, the climax of the Tag story arc.
When Mitch says "kill yourself" to a machine...duck.
-
My latest pickup just arrived today - the cover of the second Ex-Machina TPB, Tag.
This is, IMHO, one of the best EM pieces to date. I love the layout, it's huge and it's more focused on Mayor Hundred than his slightly goofy looking alter-ego (no offense, Great Machine).

Gotta love Starr.
-
Wow. That's a serious stack of pages. Hoffman can definitely draw.
-
Birth issue - no, but I almost certainly would have bought it. There's only 2 in 9.8. How much did it sell for?
Hey. If I remember correctly it went for a little over $150. Decent money for a $5 raw book.
BTW, I'm just reading through this series from start to finish for the first time right now and I'm loving it (not that I ever doubted I would).
-
Just curious, did you buy or end up with my 9.8 copy of #9 (the Birth Issue)? I got it graded on a whim and was astounded by how much it went for on ebay.

Congrats!
