  1. Maybe somebody can bring me up to speed.
  2. Here's a great resource, and comparison between some of the different companies. https://www.investopedia.com/best-collectibles-insurance-5101072
  3. Please dear Lord let this happen......Iol.
  4. I tried some back door love with my wife, but she said NO THANKS!!!
  5. No, I would say yours should command markedly more. Good lord, what a difference.
  6. In addition to all that has been discussed so far. I am now seeing a fair amount of the (already sold) Promise books, being put back up for auction with Heritage. Not sure what to make of this. An attempt at flipping these books for a quick profit. Or something else at play. Nonetheless, it is somewhat unusual to see with Heritage. It reminds me of ebay. Where you check the sold items. And you see a book that has supposedly already sold 5 times. But miraculously it's still for sale.
  7. I've been using my Microtek i800 scanner for a few years now on Windows XP, and it works great. The problem is that I recently started using a PC with Windows 7, and my scanner will not work on my Windows 7. I believe the problem is that I do not (or cannot) install the drivers needed to run the i800. I've been to the Microtek web site, but it does not have any drivers for the i800 available. The web site seems to be very outdated and/or defunct. And they will not respond to any e-mails I have sent them. I have the original driver disk that installed fine on my Windows XP. But it will not load onto my Windows 7. When I plug my scanner into my Windows 7 PC, it won't even find the scanner. I was able to download a version of the ScanWizard 5 program from the internet. But it does me no good if I can't connect my scanner drivers. Does anybody have, or know of any safe web site where I can download the drivers needed for the i800? I see there are some web sites like semantic.gs, that say they have the drivers. But I'am hesitant to use these unknown services. maybe some of you have used them or know of their safety. Any help from you awesome boardies would be greatly appreciated. I'm only computer savy enough to get myself in trouble. Thanks all...
  8. That's a pretty nice (6.5) too. Looks more like a (7.5) to me. Maybe rusty staples holding it back?
  9. Unfortunately, it might stick around for a while.
  10. That the X-Ray Glasses cannot actually see through women's clothing.
  11. The Kid Colt #1 (9.0), with the rat chewed corner and the dust shadows went for over $19k Anyone here can have my (8.5) MH White pages, for......let's say 15k??????? I won't be holding my breath. Ridiculous IMO, lol... P.S. I almost forgot the staple tears!!!
  12. I wish this was my wife's gynecologic chart...
  13. Lost my Mother to the exact same cancer 18 years ago. I still think of her often. But time does help heal. Sorry for your loss.
  14. I've tried to call them 3 times already to tell them their search function is incredibly screwed up. The old search function was perfect. Now it's gone completely. Why on earth as a comic book/auction web site, would you take away the most important tool of the entire web site??? Someone should be fired.
  15. Personally I really like the ComicLink site. Until recently when they screwed up the search function.
  16. Why not just accept checks? If I have books to sell (especially high dollar) the boards are my first, and preferred way to go. It's of tremendous advantage to me as I'm not paying the 20% auction fees. And the buyer is not paying any fees or immediate tax. I assume all of the same people looking at the auction houses, etc. are also here on these boards. So I'm reaching a large audience. Probably all of the comic guys around for the most part. The people here are knowledgeable, and will be quick to call out any b.s. to keep things legit and in line. I hate the 3% rule as well. And had my last sales thread pulled, because I didn't know any better at the time. So the next time I'm just going to ask for checks. I'm old enough to remember sending checks was the only way to buy something off eBay, or these boards. It takes a little longer, but it avoids the stupid fees which I refuse to pay. I'll gladly pass that 3% through to my buyer in the form of free shipping, discounts, etc. Just as long as some third party isn't getting it. But if the question is between selling on Instagram or the boards? I'll take the boards plus check payment any day. I have to believe it reaches far more of the buyers one is looking for. Are guys looking on Instagram for comics? I never have.
  17. Wow, ole Mully79 came in like an Einstein Tornado and left destruction in his wake. I guess as he put it he "owned" all of us because nobody could deduce his grade based off of three graders notes. Welp, thanks Mully79 for blessing us with your vast intellectual prowess. If you can ever find it in your heart to come back here a deal with us simpletons, please do so, and enlighten us with more of your dazzling brain power.
  18. Super Cool. And exceedingly rare books in those high grades. GLWTS
  19. Recently I sent in a moderately expensive GA book for pressing. With the high hopes of a potential grade bump, as it had non-color breaking creases. After everything was done. The book comes back the exact same grade. With the grader's note saying it has non-color breaking creases. I'll be calling them tomorrow...
  20. I've seen freaks of nature before. But this book takes it to another level. The black cover, and super sharp corners are UNREAL. Can't believe this is 77 years old.
  21. Just one book for sale today. Atlas Suspense #19 - CGC graded (7.5) - River City Pedigree. 3rd Highest Graded behind solo (8.5) and (9.0) 5 in grade. Notes from CGC indicate small front cover creases. So I am assuming the book could get a bump up (8.0/8.5?) with a press. First "I'll take It" gets it. PayPal, Check or Money Orders accepted. PM me with any questions - $800 Shipped $800 Shipped
  22. Awesome book Caleb, congrats. You always find the gems. And you know I have to give some love to the Spellbounds. What a great Everett Classic.
  23. A big thank you to CGC and the judges for this year's win. It was very much unexpected, and an incredibly awesome surprise. I'm inspired to continue to build on the set, and see how far I can go. And yes, I do plan on seeking out those elusive Kid Colt variants. Say a prayer, lol. Thanks also, to fellow boardie and super collector, 4gemworks. Who was instrumental in helping me with many of my upgrades. Congrats to all of the other winners and their great sets.
