  1. Yeh but you collect like a Baby Boomer - determined, with drive and focus! No slacking. So let's call it a late arrival to the party, and make you an Honorary Boomer. That sounds great to me. I'll gladly take that honor and daydream of the kind of world my Dad grew up in. If we could combine the greatest things about today's technology with the simplicity, integrity, and morals of the Golden Age, wow what a great world that would be to live in... My first "big purchase" Kid Colt comic. Age: 10 (circa 1980) Place: Comic City in uptown Minneapolis (still there) Cost: $12 Some how I kept it from age 10 until age 38, and it still graded out an (8.5).
  2. ....those early Kid Colt covers are so well drawn...... and I'd love to page through a Vancouver.... I've heard so much about them. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) I totally agree with you jimbo on the early Atlas westerns. There are many under appreciated covers, interiors, and stories!!! The Vancouver books are breathtaking. The KC #2 has always been entombed since I purchased it. But I've seen some raw books and usually all of them have blindingly white pages that feel like they were just printed. I guess the colder you can keep your books the better (not in the fridge or freezer please) Here's one of my favorite earlier Kid Colt's. This cover seems to have it all. And a Maneely to boot................................
  3. Thank you for the kind comments sir I wish that was me in the photo. I would have gently read through the stories, lovingly tucked it away in between the pages of an encyclopedia, stored it in a cool dry place, and squirreled it away for the next 65 years. Unfortunately I'm a Gen X'er and was born in 1969.
  4. That book sold on C-Link last winter for around $1,800....... Could have purchased it then but I'll stick with the Vancouver copy. I think the wrap is much better and the corners are sharper.
  5. 10. Levittown New York 1949 I wish all of the Westerns were as popular as popular today. I'd be a rich man..............
  6. Nice Copy of a very rare book. The one sold on the e-bay looked to be in maybe (8.0) condition. I wonder who got it......
  7. Does anybody know if it was a boardie who purchased the sweet Kid Colt #1 on e-bay about a week ago?
  8. Who picked up the Kid Colt #100 CGC (7.5) off of e-bay the other day? $330 was a steal
  9. Found the problem and I am fixing the pics i originally posted on the site. I am an Admin on a Mopar site and the site automatically resizes the images from Tinypics so I never realized I can change the size of the image when I upload it. Oh Well, Live and Learn. MOPAR site!!!!! Ummm, my daily driver..............................
  10. Awesome books. Many hard to find in any grade. Especially #6.
  11. #59 is a Severin, and a sweet one at that............................
  12. I agree jimbo, exactly. Scans are coming through beautifully by the way.
  13. An earlier Maneely cover and one of my favorites. I've always loved the way he showed depth, and had a lot of things happening in the background. Psssst! It's for sale
  14. .... old habits die hard GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u I thought I was done (are we ever really?) and then I start seeing nice upgrades pop up and the "Kid" keeps sucking me back in.....
  15. If anyone knows who purchased the Kid Colt Outlaw #16 tonight on ComicLink, and they want to sell it at a tidy profit, please let me know. I was helping my kid with a school project and totally spaced out the auction......... Thanks.......

  17. zzutak, will that be cash or check..................
  18. That book was for sale last Spring at Metro for $4,500. Interesting to see where it ends up a little over a year later.
  19. I have purchased a handful of books from Caleb, and have had an awesome experiance each time. Great books, perfectly packed, lightning fast ship, and great communication.
  20. It wasn't slabbed and it wasn't pressed. It was sent in raw. All I know is that I sent it to CGC with no chip. And it came back to me with a chip. Obviously the chip out of the top severly affects the grade on an otherwise great book. It just sucks, is all that I'm saying. Especially when a premium is paid for such a book.
  21. Sent into CGC an (8.5) NO CHIP, came back a (6.5) WITH CHIP. Thanks CGC, your the greatest.
