  1. 100% not true! Although as you mentioned I think the seller proved they aren't the most knowledgeable about the book by stating only 12 copies exist. Further, there is no way Marvel would do a RHK movie before a TGK movie! I think they should do a movie with the big three, Kid Colt, Rawhide Kid, and Two Gun Kid, and call it the "Mighty Marvel Western" If it was a little gritty, still PG with a great story line (see opposite Jonah Hex) I think it would be a winner. They don't seem to be able to make a great western that will work for today (see Lone Ranger, awful). I know it could be done, heck all of us could probably write a much better -script than the garbage coming out of Hollyweird. Charlie Hunam (Sons of Anarchy) as Kid Colt? Stan as the saloon bartender, or the old gold prospector? It could be done right.............
  2. WOW!! Really Nice....I have NEVER seen that one. I'm guessing it's very rare.
  3. A quick check on Greg's site :hail: is 17 http://cgcdata.com/cgc/customissues.asp?pub=Atlas%20Comics&ShowDetail=N Of course, I don't / can't know how consistent CGC is at listing Atlas Comics for these books and there are some goofy stretch of time in there, meaning it includes some later issues of TTA and TOS. You can amuse yourself looking at each title here: http://cgcdata.com/cgc/titlechoice.asp?pub=Atlas+Comics to ferret out which 17 they are. For example, there is a 9.6 Millie # 6 from 1947 and also 9.6's of Patsy Walker # 8, 9 & 12 from 1947. Also there are both a Marvel Tales # 110 & 111 in 9.6 Also note that there are 2 listed in 9.8 including a Patsy Walker # 2 from 1945. Here's two of them..............
  4. That frickin thing looks like it was bought yesterday!!! Unbelievable....
  5. The lower grade stuff just doesen't seem to move. There is still some nice interest in higher grade and/or Pedigree books however, judging from some recent auctions. I have a few higher grade Kid Colt's coming up in the September ComicConnect Event auction and it should be a good barometer for where these books are at.
  6. Thanks for all of the great comments. It's taken me many moons and tireless searching to find alot of these. Here are my two favorites. The KC #1 is a flat out impossible book to find in grade. In fact the only one that I had ever even heard about was the Mile High copy. At least that is what I had gathered from the Mile High records and the Gerber Photo Journals (the Gerber Kid Colt #1 is the Mile High copy). I was finally lucky enough to locate it and purchase it in 2011. I had searched for it for 30 years (since I was 12). The KC #2 is probably my best example as far as grade. It is an incredibly preserved Vancouver copy. Super White pages and great color and gloss. Crazy rare for a 65 year old comic. It was recently tied on the census (9.6) by another #2 (the Mile High copy). I had the chance to purchase the MH as well but passed. Wish I would have boughten it.
  7. Actually that is a very nice #87. Which is also a very tough one to find in any sort of higher grade. Here's mine for comparison:
  8. I love Maneely covers. Not a slouch by any means.
  9. Brian - If I had a dollar for everytime I thought the same thing I'd be a rich man. I totally have plans to do just that. One of the reasons I didn't go after the one on e-bay. I actually purchased this copy from Metro in 2004 and it was listed as a 8.5. We all know Metro can be a little off, but 2.5 points off? A brighter scan would show even more how good it actually looks. Well, that's it, you've confirmed it. I'm cracking, pressing, and re-submitting..........................
  10. Here's my (6.0) for referance and comparison...............
  11. Very Nice Saw that one on e-bay. What do you think it would grade out as? It is tough because of the dust shadows. Those are the main flaws of the book. I've owned and seen books with similar shadows as cgc 8.0 and higher. This one is structurally superior to the RHK 27 I had (and regret selling ). As of now I would guess a 8.0-8.5 If I sent it off to be dry cleaned to help with the dust shadows and with a press a 9.0-9.2 Wow!!! CGC tops is an 8.0. It will be a long time until one that nice comes around again. A very nice and very, very hard book to locate in higher grade. Congrats again...........
  12. Very Nice Saw that one on e-bay. What do you think it would grade out as?
  13. Lemme guess. Every Atlas comic from '55 on? Seriously, can't wait to see your hear about your new quest. The last one was truly epic in scope. Whats up Bro? Thanks! I still need the last 4 comics from the 20 years. Have not had much luck finding copies I like at prices I dont think are high. I have not figured out the years to collect yet. You think 1955 up? Been going after 1958 and 1959 pretty heavy. 1955 up might be a good plan. What are the last 4 books that you are looking for?
  14. Hello - I am trying to delete my post off of this forum. Everytime I try to delete the post, a message tells me that I cannot delete the first post if it already has responses. Please help, Thanks..................
