I as well am a lifeling Marvel fan, and I was never a Kang fan at all.  Not really looking forward to ther rest of this phase, especially with what's been released so far.  I'll still watch though ;)

I only liked Kang after seeing him in one of the Avengers cartoons from around 5 to 10 years ago. I'm not into this phase either but will likely skip a lot of this phase unless my wife really wants to watch something. We both love Loki but neither one of us were fans of his show. We both greatly disliked Majors appearance as Kang in Loki. It was just the spoon cherry on top of an already disappointing series for us.  I kind of figured since there are so many other versions of Kang (this was noted in Loki) that someone else would be cast in the role for the actual MCU films. We both found Majors so obnoxious with his appearance in Loki that I can see both of us just skipping much of this phase, especially if DIS keeps producing underwhelming garbage for Disney+ and theaters.

Moon Knight prices were strong. Not just the Sienks stuff but other artists as well. Whether CL or other platforms it seems to be that Moon Knight material is still going strong from what I saw so if prices are going down that's one character that's been able to resist it to a certain extent at least. I did see some pieces though that I felt did go for a little low compared to what I saw as the quality of the work.

I was pretty happy with what my Moon Knight painting sold for. I had offered it to someone for 70% less around two years ago so :takeit:

Maybe Josh thinks that bandwidth speeds and data storage prices are still the same as back in 2000.

I am actually shocked that my images for comics I sold on Clink around 2003 or 2004 still show up when I look at my sales history. It comes off as they just don't want to get an extra scanner and person to accommodate the extra time the the back scans will take.

Yes I know that’s my prerogative. But that’s not the issue. The thread is “What can ComicLink do to become more competitive”. And what I’m saying is clink is leaving money on the table because of their policy.

Bidders wont throw in last minute bids when there’s no back cover to look at. If Clink wants to be more competitive they need to include back covers. I’ve made my last blind bid, and if you think I’m the only one who feels this way, fine. But I bet it’s not just me

    :sumo:

I was going to comment about this issue but I wasn't logged in and it didn't involve OA. There are a few comics I would consider buying but wouldn't even bother looking to buy from any of the Clink auctions. There are too many really ugly things that can be on a back cover. Writing has always been a pet peeve so not being able to see a back cover is a no go for me.

Truckee Meadows is the name of the valley containing the Truckee River. The river begins as outflow from Lake Tahoe, meanders through northern Nevada, and ends at Pyramid Lake (an endorheic basin with no outflow).

At some point I may offer books here in the marketplace but that’s a ways down the line. I’m less than a quarter done with the initial triage of the collection (it takes much longer when not a single book has ever been bagged or boarded and so many of the books are potential 9.2-9.6 candidates… there is no fast way to flip through high grade raw books lol). Once I have a more complete picture of Heritage vs local slabbed vs local raw, I’ll start on that process. But this collection is around a 600-hour part-time job* and I was already working 70-80 hours a week year round. So it will take time.

    * and yes, it’s the coolest part-time job I can imagine having

Was he ever a suspect in the Truckee Meadows Murders? This may help the later books gain Pedigree status.

The next SS4 9.6 coming up on Clink, looks soft if you don't like bad back covers.

It's one of the very rare books in the next auction, where they've included a scan of the back cover.  There are many more valuable books, with no back cover scan included.

What the hell is going on with the lower right hand edge of the front cover? It that a printing defect or is part of the cover detached?

As ToS 65 & 66 featured Cap stories set during WW2, wouldn't the first appearance in the Silver Age of the Red Skull actually be ToS 72?

Thread resurrection since I just read this Marvel Masterworks and as I am reading it I thought…this is an entire  story arc all set during WWII. As you noted it wasn’t until a few issues after issue 65 that Red Skull actually appeared in the current 1960’s Marvel Comics Universe. Issue 65 nor 66 should ever have been considered his first SA appearance. Red Skull first SA appearance in a 1940’s story…kind of stupid.

Yeah, I guess that's the billion dollar question.   Do the relative hobby valuations pre pandemic or post pandemic make more sense?    I think either side can be argued.

Come on Bronty not like there are any movies for MTG. :roflmao:

I recently went looking for some artwork by Phil Winslade, and after contacting him, he responded that he doesn’t sell his art. Checking on CAF showed that there is, indeed, very little published work of his out there that has been sold.

As a convenience to the community, I was wondering what other artists, aside from Walt Simonson, also make it a practice not to sell. Even then, some things will occasionally slip out, or the artist does’t follow that rule, like with Simonson’s preliminaries. I also don’t count commissions since their whole purpose is to be sold. So, anyone to add, with qualifications or otherwise?

I think Simon Powell was the one of the few that got Phil to sell some of his published work. That’s how I wound up with the box art Phil did for the X-Men Sega Genesis game. I didn’t even know he was the artist until Simon posted it and up until that point could find no credit on who had done the artwork.

First we get Gene declared incompetent (we can use the Old Gene/New Gene posts on these boards as evidence of extreme schizophrenia).

Then, since his kids are still minors, we get ourselves appointed as their trustees.

Sounds like a plan, counselor!

Oh damn I’m going to be in a lot of trouble this is the legal route taken. Especially when old Gene told me last year “Any IBM is too much IBM.” To this year “I bought some IBM.”

Agreed.  I was going to bid on it because its amazing but that price is miles beyond what I thought it would go for.  That is the sad thing to me.  I now have no real concept of fair market value anymore.

I was pretty surprised by the hammer on this. Great piece, and I love Nowlan, but dang.

I was talking to Bronty about this one being nice and he mentioned how faded it is at the bottom…but it’s not just the bottom. I wasn’t familiar with the published image so I looked up the actual poster and it’s not even a matter of the published poster just being printed darker…a lot of that piece is faded. Strange’s left leg is particularly bad when comparing to the published image. It should be solid blue yet part of it hasn’t even turned a lighter of blue it’s gone white.

Still a nice piece but something that roached would bug the hell out of me.
