  1. Congrats! Before I could even make an offer it was sold, great page!
  2. So Ewan will you be listing that Fusion 4 anytime soon? Would be great on the shelf with the FE 5 I got from you awhile back;)
  3. Of course it's my own personal preference, but to me, an A+ preacher page is full of Garth Ennis dialogue. Full splash pages with a word or 2 wouldn't do anything for me. Same for an Alan Moore scripted page, I want his ideas/thoughts on paper. If I was chasing a McFarlane page, I'd want less dialogue and more art.
  4. Very nice Count, I need to get a couple more Moore Fanzines Some of these look strangely familiar (?) Ha, I'd guess at least 80% of Alan Moore/MiracleMan related fanzines on the market came through you. I'm still thrilled I got your Fe#5 awhile back. Wish I could meet Mr. Moore and have him sign it.

  6. Honestly I could care less if the show is a hit, as the book was such a fun ride, but that preview poster does spark my interest
  7. Hello Jay, I'm assuming you won that Eastman Raph piece off Heritage? When I first saw the listing I was confused until I read the description. Pretty cool, here's the original inked version. How much did the Laird piece actually go for?
  8. It's was amazing re-reading Born Again in this format, highly recommended
  9. Yeah I saw that, it is what it is I suppose. I went looking for a copy at the local shop, no luck. Wanted to compare it to the original in person. Anyone check out that Sienkiewicz Varaint cover? I'm not a fan of all these new covers, but Bills touch on 15 is beautiful.
  10. You have no idea. For example...... Issue #29 ran without the Comics Code seal of approval. The reason? There's panels of Abby and her husband Matt Cable in bed together. No graphic sex or anything, but there's the clear implication that they're married and enjoy the intemacies that go along with it. But Matt's reflection the mirror shows, not his image, but that of Abby's uncle Anton Arcane (who looks pretty messed up at this point). In a previous issue, it was established that Matt had died in a car accident and Arcane had posessed his body. So although not explicitly stated, the suggestion from these panels is that Abby has engaged in both incest and necrophelia. If I remember right, because it wasn't overt, the censors didn't catch it until it was going to go to press, too late to make changes so they just ran it without the Code. A couple of issues later, they dropped the Code altogether on the title and started carrying the banner "Sophisticated Suspense" which later became the "For Mature Readers" warning. Yeah, there's some pretty freaky stuff in Moore's run. And the birth of Vertigo was born. For anyone who has not read Alan Moores masterpiece, at least read ST 21, The Anatomy Lesson. Easily one of the greatest single issues ever.
  11. Great thread. How cool is that, Swampy and Abby reading a copy of Superman Annual 11
  12. My pleasure. That looks wonderful - glad you're pleased with the book. Always happy to sell to the big collectors. Yes, you mean Ark 10 with the V cover? I do have one more copy yes. Yep the V cover. I would like to display that copy as well. Soooo will you be listing it on the bay or a direct sell;)
  13. First I wanna thank Ewan for taking my money....book is beautiful. I've been wanting this book for a good while, I love the cover. Not to rub salt in your wounds CountZero, but it's in a good home and looks great on my Shelf of Moore;) Ewan, will you be listing another copy of Arken Sword 10 in the near future?
  14. The Alan Davis Kimota t-shirt is extremely rare!!! I have only ever seen one, so snap one up if you see it for sale. There was also a double-MM t-shirt from Eclipse which is slightly less rare as I've seen two!!! I have several MM fanzines listed now and more coming up soon... I missed my chance to bid on one of the zines and got outbid on the other... Same here.......had a spot picked out on my book shelf....oh well bring on the next batch
  15. Wow that's awesome, I never cared to much to frame art with the book but that would be the exception
  16. No need for a top 10 as I'd give my left arm for any of them. All that aside, pg 20 is my all time favorite. Just that one panel with the Joker sitting on his throne of baby dolls. "You're going mad" I tried emailing Mr. Bolland years ago for a commission of that one panel. Had to at least give it a shot.
  17. Soooooo anyone here win? Hey Nexus, I'm not 100% postive and don't have the book in front of me(at work), but I think Jesse doesn't use the Word until the next page, when he tells Cass to let go. So now you could always sell me that fine example of a dramatic Preacher scene;)
  18. Your right, seems like if there's any talk about any certain art the price magically jumps. I'm new to the art scene. But it's seems I jumped in at a time when everything is jumping up in price. I have my "nerd" room with comics, statues, posters etc...then one day I decided I want art, published art from my favorite stories to frame. First thing I wanted was an Alan Moore Swamp Thing page, and there is a certain dealer who has a good bit of it, but the prices are all over the place. Even when 2 decent pages popped up on eBay I was outbid. Then listed on his site doubled the price. It's a game of who has deeper pockets I suppose. So when I got a chance to get a preacher page, I'm thinking here we go, it's not the greatest page, but frame worthy, 2k was in the back of my head, thankfully it didn't end anywheres near that. In the end, it's a great hobby to truly have one of a kind pieces from great stories, I'll get my damn Swamp Thing page one day
  19. Man I love looking at everyone's art framed up, beautiful stuff. Here's 2 Eastmans I framed up
  20. 3-5k? Damn. In my hunt for a decent Preacher page I was thinking around the 2k mark. I quickly realized I'll never get a Saint page. Wanted a page from issue 12..., didn't look like it would happen. So I told myself I just want any page with Jesse using The Word. I thought I lucked out on the bay months back with this page. Jesse with a cig=check. Jesse using The Word=check. Jesse using The Word to make a point by making a klansmen himself=double check. All that and I got it for a decent price. Hopefully I can grab another page one day
  21. That's awesome, I have something similar. Rob was painting random things at a local shop and I asked him to do a ninja turtle, looks great, I'll post a pic up later
