  1. Got 2 but couldn't find them on the list. Cartoons and Gags Vol.18 No.5 Nov.1971 "Two Weeks With Play" 4 pages,no credits Best Cartoons from the editors of Male & Stag Vol.2 No.6 Nov.1971 Circus Siren ...or The Biggest Top of Them All" Larry Lieber & Jim Mooney 4 pages
  2. I call wildly_fanciful_statement. Spider-Man is an iconic, high-profile character whose appeal has been mainstream for at least 30 years. I find it hard to believe that even someone who knows nothing at all about comics or comic book subculture would look at a cover that says 'Introducing Spider-Man' and not question whether if it had any value outside of yard sale filler. All depends where you are. The mess people throw away in the garbage where I live is insane. Then again, my town is split into two. One half is pelham(average 500k-700k homes and that's where I live) and the other half is the manor(2 mill and up homes). The mess the people in the manor throw away on bulk garbage nights is insane. I always go through the manor on my way to work when its bulk garbage that morning. You would be amazed at what people don't care about. Maybe we should start a 'What have you found at the dump lately?' thread. Seriously,I found a 1906 GE brass fan that still worked at the dump a couple of years ago.Sold it on ebay for $125. One man's trash & all that.....
  3. Don't know if this qualifies but it is art and it is original.Comic art is up for debate but the subject matter kinda fits in. It's rather large at around 2x3 feet.My brother in law found it years ago and when he had to move awhile back he gave it to me.Odd thing is,it's done on a piece of tanned leather. Also unsigned.
  4. Sweet pick-up.But what are the 2 $1 comics with Night Nurse?Never seen them and can't find anything on them in gcd.
  5. Always on the lookout. Saw this the other day. My copy isn't quite as nice and not graded. http://cgi.ebay.com/Fear-and-Laughter-CGC-9-2-Dave-Stevens-William-Stout-/260827886823?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cba8db4e7 Give us a hint as to what Dave's interior work looks like?
  6. Why isn't he listed in the credits on GCD?Did he use another name? http://www.comics.org/issue/49427/

  8. That is the single best image in comics.Ever! Going overboard on Rocketeer? Nonsense
  9. Received this with a NM copy of the Rio gn. And had to have one of these too. Not the best grade but it'll do for awhile.
  10. Sadly I sold off most of my Dave Stevens books about 3 years ago.Much to my regret now.Had them all except for a few of the more recent ones.I kept all my Rocketeer books and this little gem. At the time, the signature didn't command much of a premium. Oh,and I won the fine copy of 3-D Zone 16 and the Peek-A-Boo with the Ward cover.
  11. I ordered the Back Issue #47 and got the download but I can't open it.Anyone got any suggestions?

  15. From probably the past couple of years.Found them at a Family Dollar store. Are they considered second prints or variants? Are they worth anything? The middle books look like Marvel Adventure book,I've not taken them out to check.
  16. Need centerfold for Fritzi Ritz nn Special Fall issue 1948 if anyone has one.
  17. Someone posted the National Lampoon issue a couple weeks ago, and I wondered if any copies of this PC catalog still existed. I remember getting it in the mail around 1977-78 or so. It was the first real catalog I had received, and I blown away by the contents and the cover. This was a BIG catalog, and producing it at the time was no small feat. I wish I knew where my copy went. This also came with a Jeff Gelb bio sheet. It's also serves as a COA that it came from the Jeff Gelb collection and is signed by him.Probably doesn't increase the value but I like it.
  18. Very sweet portfolio. The more I see Severins' art today the better I like it.I've noticed they did some great covers for Marvel back in the 70's.
  19. Very swet Point Five. And they look great. That Jan.Startling cover is a true classic & at the top of my list. And I love the old sci-fi stories as well.Tons of great reading.
  20. I'm a bottom feeder so condition isn't always my top priority.Had this one for a few months. Got these 2 from flying-donut awhile back Not a pulp but for 2 bits at a yard sale, what the heck? My dozen arrieved today.Man I love this stuff. The Startling are my favorites.Bergey art is so clean, reminds me a lot of Schomburg.Of course,Vrigil Finley isn't one to sneeze at either!
