The problem with truly hard to find books is sometimes one has to turn a blind eye to things he would normally not ... There may well never again be another chance or perhaps only in 20yrs time.

I'll take a 7.0 (w/o rust) over an 8.0 or even 9.0 (w/rust) any day of the week. It is said that if book is kept in proper storage conditions the rust won't deteriorate. But who knows ... I could make exceptions if the staples present only very slight rusting. In the end rust is like tape. Neither can be good for a comic in the long term.

There are countless examples of shoddy CGC grading. The seller has a good rep and sells plenty comics/comic related material. Why chance it over a 6K book ? He has some inventory selling for more.

Grade Date: 02/24/2012 Wasn't 2012 notorious for being a crappy year ( overly soft ) of CGC grading ? I believe it was.

Jay, I saw the book listed and I also saw it sell ( about a week or so later). I checked the census the day it was listed ( because of the description) and there were 100 copies . Of that I have no doubt. I checked today and there were 111 copies. That's all I know.

If you check the wwcomics description it is mentioned there. I saw it and went to confirm myself. At the time of that sale there were 100 Universal 9.8 copies. I checked today and the total is at 111. The WWComics copy was the 100th 9.8 on the census. In just over a couple months 11 new copies were added.

The date stamp on the HA copy was way cool !
