  1. Not all, but most Out of curiosity, what grade came back on the trimmed copy ?
  2. There were a few restored. A couple of high grades but yes, the majority were gd-vg range. I’ve sold most of them over the past 3 years. The really nice copy ended up being trimmed when we sent to cgc (disappointment but that’s life) Oh, so they have all since been slabbed and sold. Good to know. Thanks.
  3. That's like half the boards. Damn, myself included.
  4. Same. Visit was on my Birthday. Best gift ever.
  5. Guess-estimate from some dealers. Maybe more, maybe less. Who knows. This is after all a book from 1962, not 1939. There are, to date, 1743 Universal, 39 Qualified and 276 Signature copies. Roughly 2000+ copies. And that number is certainly growing. Some will surely defend that CGC census numbers are flawed because of resubs, etc. I am leaving cbcs and pgx copies out of the equation, so it should balance things out. GAtor mentioned an individual that alone held over 60 raw copies (in nice condition) iirc. Like him, I'm sure there are many others that hoarded them over the years.
  6. Robert, unless I'm mistaken, the ComicLink 6.5 that ended a few nights ago is the same copy that you sold as a cbcs graded copy ? Amazing Fantasy #15 CBCS 6.5 F+ $83,500 SOLD
  7. Did you know that an Elvis fan in Denmark built a replica of Graceland ( larger in size though ) ? It too serves as a museum. http://memphismansion.dk/ I found out about about him through an article on CNN. Gave him a call and chatted for a good half hour. Very nice fellow. http://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/denmark-graceland-elvis/index.html
  8. Very appealing 7.0s indeed. The HA copy is currently at $71,700.00. It's always nice to see a non-chipped copy listed. I'd venture a good 35-40% of all AF15s suffer from some degree of Marvel chipping.
  9. I visited the US for the first time this Summer. At Graceland, there were a good 2000 people there on the day of my visit. Easily more than half the crowd was well under my age (45)
  10. ComicLink as a pretty nice 3.0 just listed. Appropriate asking price.
  11. Agree. While I can't speak for Asia, I can for Europe. We have offices all over Europe. I consider myself a learned man and know who Mickey Mantle was. Have never followed baseball, have no interest in it nor in his accomplishments but I know who he was to the world of baseball. If I ask any of my colleagues (spanning several countries) about Spiderman or Elvis, the answer will be positive. Mickey Mantle ? They won't have a clue.
  12. Have you created a WTB ? Occasionally bump it and maybe one day you'll get lucky.
  13. I won't even start on Sinatra's rendition of "My Way" versus Elvis' "My Way". No contest. Elvis blows Frank not only out of the water but onto another continent. Sinatra was a better actor than Elvis, no question there. Elvis starred in 31 movies, but wasn't taken seriously as an actor. He knew it, everyone knew it. Although every now and then when I'm channel surfing I'll stumble across an Elvis movie, can't even recall the last time same happened for a Sinatra flick. This is in Lisbon or Paris (here they dub the movie ). Likely in the US his movies are played more often. Btw, a couple of my Sinatra favs are "the man with the golden arm" and "Ocean's Eleven". Let's get back to talk AF15 John. I'm trying REAL, real hard from refraining to answer to the Elvis post. Cause if I start, I'll maybe finish on Thursday.
