  1. Congrats! Check out the story inside with Samson. It's the story from Fantastic Comics # 3. "cover".
  2. And if they didn't, remember Tape is not a defect!!!
  3. Sweet. Love the white pages and cover also. That Schomburg sure could pack the action on a cover.
  4. Showcase # 4 has always been a scarce book. A lot of people missed it when it debuted. Jerry Bails even claimed to have missed it. He picked up a copy later in his collecting.
  5. Looks like maybe an OHIO Billy. Post it over in the "football cover" thread. OOPS!!! wrong pedigree.. my bad..
  6. 2great books . BTW House of Mystery = Kirby cover.
  7. Great book . I love that whole series . All seven issues. Underated imo.
  8. That's a very nice copy. Congrats. I held the Church copy years ago it was a beauty. That book whenever I've seen it is usually in bad shape for some reason. Again Congrats, for having a nice copy.
  9. No problem. If your interested, check out any books by Bill Schelly. He writes a column for Alter Ego magazine. You can order from him or Barnes and Noble, etc. He has a website also. He explores comic history, fanzines ,etc. I have a lot of his books that I've purchasd over the years. Reading a Joe Kubert biography now. Enjoy...
  10. That comic just screams Golden Age. BTW, Raymond Miller was a big name fan back in the 60's . They say his collection was pretty awesome. He used to write for fanzines. He grew up in the Golden Age period. I think I remember reading that he was born in 1930. He may still be alive. He lived in Pennsylvania.
  11. Well that book is not scarce. Maybe market scarce though. Your buying them all.
  12. Crude art , but I like it. That artist could give Fletcher Hanks a run for his money.
  13. I was talking to a dealer some years ago who had the original art to Spidey #59 cover. He had it framed. It was a beauty. IIRC he was asking 25 grand for it.
  14. I'm going blind looking at your books. They look like they came off the press.
  15. I agree #16, #39, #57 for me also. I'm biased though ,#16 was the 1st comic book I ever bought off the newsstand way back in the early 1960's. What a way to start.
  16. I don't think Jack Cole gets his due either. Those Plastic Man stories and art are some of the best in the golden age. I have some of those archives , really enjoy them. Well done for the time!
  17. I remember having a conversation with George Tuska years ago at a con.We were talking about Lou Fine and how he worked with him, Charlie Sultan and others. He said, Louie was the best with a brush. I then pulled out a copy of Hit #5 for him to look at. He was bowled over saying it was beautiful.
  18. Your right about taste. BTW I want to clarify that was Paul who said that quote.
  19. Maybe there going to restore them to higher grades!
  20. 1. Lou Fine doesn't do anything for me. What's his best cover Hit 5? Fantastic 3? That's the best you got? I never cared for his composition or his inking. I think you just upset Jon Berk, Steve Cary, Myself, and quite a few others. BTW Hit # 5 and Fantastic comics # 3 are two of my faves in my collection, among other Lou Fine books.Wonderworld # 7 , # 8, Hit # 11, etc.
