  1. doesn't matter. Prelims are all different sizes and degree of render. Some can be tiny and extremely loose and some can be a good size and quite tight and polished. The main takeaway there being there is a wide variance in what you get so the labels aren't super useful and you have to use your eyes. There can also be only one prelim per scene or as in your case several. Its just what you expect when it comes to prelims and you factor that in.
  2. Great points, but in spite of that, I don't sense the same party atmosphere. 2021 felt like a rocketship to the moon. I'm sure we will see some big numbers, but we're not going to see anything legitimately batshyte crazy like $3m Zeck pages IMO. Let the mayhem begin!
  3. I thought I smelled something in the air! Hoo ah!
  4. I would say its unlikely any of us really knows the full truth. Maybe the cases are not compromised and maybe they are and don't want to admit it yet. Either way we'll be told things are fine.
  5. Unfortunately I don’t think a complete overhaul of a holder is a fast process. You need to develop thr design , test the prototypes, get molds made, order large batches - I don’t think it will be quick because there are a number of steps
  6. I'm not disputing that you CAN enter into a contract along those lines. But did he?
  7. (I haven't seen the documentary) but yes, I hear you there. From what little I've read it almost comes across like Rybolovlev forgot Bouvier was a dealer and completely self interested. Not your friend, but happy to appear so in order to juice the price up. Not much different than what can happen in our hobby except at smaller numbers.
  8. The article is behind a pay wall for me, but on what basis is that determination being made? Other articles mentioned he would invoice the Russian for artwork, not for services, which is more consistent with dealer than agent. But, again, its behind a pay wall for me. The Russian had to have an expectation that Bouvier was not doing this for free. So, he had to expect that there was either a mark up, or that he'd be invoiced a percentage. If he wasn't invoiced a percentage, it would likely have been pretty clear the work was being marked up to him. This is not a rube at play here. This is a billionaire who's no doubt seen it all and then some.
  9. Are you paring down your collection or releasing doubles?
  10. All the best Mannions seem to live at Will’s place!
  11. Think of all the education that you’ve missed
  12. Not expecting a response then, but ask yourself. Does the average buyer really care if the WOS 39 they are buying for their set is 9.0 or 9.6? Its a rough market out there for anything non-key. I have thousands of books myself that are probably worth less than I paid for them 20 or 30 years ago, realistically.
  13. Well you just admitted it without deflecting so I’d say you’re doing the most important thing right!
  14. STFU nerd You're on a comic book message board, yourself
  15. Prices have come back down to pre covid levels for the most part which.. makes sense? There are certainly sales that didn't make sense, like the Mario 64 in games or the Secret Wars 8 page in comics. Well, guess what, the buyer of those two items, to the best of my knowledge, was the same person. The prices being paid in 2021 were real, there's no question of that because the buyers have been identified. Were they great purchases, of course not, but everyone was caught up in it, just like with trading cards. How or why people can think that its specific to games is odd to me. There are examples literally everywhere. Look at the Jordan RC psa 10 market. It hit 700,000 at one point. Last old sold for 186,000. 186k is still good money, but its a 70% decline on what was touted as, and probably is, the most blue chip basketball card there is. Well, I don't know cards all that well, but if the blue chips are down 70% from peak is it any surprise that some of the insane overpays in games are down huge as well? The better items are down substantially, but not down the comical 70, 80, 90% that we see with garbage that was vastly overpaid at the time. I also collect alpha MTG cards, which is the most desirable set. Those are easily down 50-70% from peak as well. Why are we surprised about any of this. Comics and especially comic art have been sheltered a little better because they didn't go up as much in the first place. The fall back down to pre covid levels was a softer landing because they never went up as much in the first place. But even with comics there are substantial reductions on some blue chip items, and the junk $10 books that shot to $100 are back down to $10. This is/was a broad based phenomena across many multiple collecting categories. How are NFT values holding up? They shot from zero to $$$$ and are back to zero. Etc etc etc all over the place.
  16. The MOD function in Excel is used to find remainder after division of one number (dividend) by another (divisor). In mathematics, this operation is called the modulo operation or modulus, hence the name MOD. So given that the MOD function that just gives us the remainder, which may be zero (if A for example is $1000) then your equation, Mr Johnson, is not at all what Tim was referencing. QED
  17. Hmm. When I write =MOD(80,40) in excel, excel doesn't give me a value of 2, it gives me a value of zero.
  18. Now, I'm not a mathematician, so maybe I'm not understanding but I don't think those are the same. I think what Tim is saying (although we are going way way too deep here ) is that if A= 10-99 then B = 40; and if A = 100-999 then B = 400; and if A = 1000-9999 then B = 4000; and if A = 10000-99999 then B = 40000; etc. Whereas in your scenario.. if MOD (80,40) is 2 per your explanation, then (40*MOD(A, 40)) = 40*2 = 80 which is not the intention. Tim's intention as I understand it is basically B = 4 x 10^n-1 where n= the number of digits left of the decimal place in A (when A is expressed without extraneous zeroes to the left).
  19. I think I have #2? Does anyone have a Christina Winters 1 or 3 they want to sell?
  20. Never mind. I can see it is; top left.
  21. Awesome! Is that from the early Eros book, Christina winters or something like that?
