  1. Another Legion of Superheroes audition. The "Tusker"! He is obviously where Marvel got the idea for Wolverine's retractable claws. So..... when the Tusker retracts his tusks.... where do they go in his skull?
  2. Adventure Comics 346 Karate Kid is auditioning for the Legion. His "power"..... being really good at Karate & Judo. And then he chops an "I-Beam" in two. Wait...wha? Mastering Karate let's you chop I-Beams? (I think Karate Kid brought a Balsa wood shaped I-Beam and painted it black.)
  3. Found this cover today...... IN MY OWN COLLECTION (It was in a pile of 200 western covers that I bought for $1 each a decade ago). It's amazing how even your own collection can surprise you sometimes. It's only the cover... but pretty nice shape.
  4. About a decade ago I bought a "lot" of 200 Western "Front Covers" on ebay for about $1 each. I tucked them away and never really looked at them again, until the virus hit and I've been trying to make some money until I can work again (I'm an entertainer). The covers are in pretty nice shape except on the spine edges. A boardie pointed out to me that they appear to be from the "New Hampshire Pedigree" collection. I've been slowly selling them on ebay and here on the boards for $4 to $5 each. Today I pulled out some new ones to sell and this cover showed up. Not bad for a $1 buy. I can't believe I didn't even know I had it. Should I just leave it as is, or should I find a lower grade copy and have this nice cover grafted to it?
  5. Staple looks worse than it is. It's actually solid (but indented).
  6. Vibrant colors, clean, but it needs a press. It also has a 3/4" spine split at the top. Top staple looks funky in the photo but is solid. (It's indented but holding strong)
  7. This thread is not only hilarious, but it gets collectors to actually look inside of their comics instead of just looking at covers.
  8. These are all very low grade (and a couple are incomplete), but I'm glad I've picked them up through the years. I think my favorite is the Mickey Mouse Magazine "transition" comic in the lower right which came out 1 month before WDC&S 1
  9. Not a comic book, but I picked it up on a whim the other day (price was right). 1944
  10. Very appropriate to have a "Payday" candybar wrapper in the upper right corner, cuz you're gonna have a massive Payday when you sell these. I hope there are no chocolate stains on any of them.
  11. Here are pieces that I have. Take a look through and see if anything matches your needs, or if you have something that matches my needs. -Action 4 (I need a back cover) -Action 12 (I need a cover. I need the 1st 7 wraps & the centerfold) -Action 32 (I need the 1st wrap & 2 centerfolds) -Action 36 "copy 1" (I need a centerfold) -Action 36 "copy 2" (I need the cover & 2 centerfolds) -Action 50 (I only have the centerfold) -Action 56 (I need the cover & 1st inner wrap) -Action 57 "copy 1" (I need the cover) -Action 57 "copy 2" (I need the cover) -Action 81 (I need a front cover) -Action 84 (I need a cover) -Action 88 (I need a back cover & centerfold) -Superman 15 (I need the cover & the 1st wrap) -Superman 20 (I need a cover & 3 centerfolds) -Detective 13 (I have the cover, but need the entire inside) -Detective 50 (I need a cover & 1st wrap) -New Adventure 16 (I need a cover & 1st wrap) -Batman 24 (I need a cover)
  12. I've got 11 Heritage and 1 Sotheby's catalogue. They are all really nice but not perfect. A couple might have some small notes jotted on the insides. 13. Normal rules No HOS or Probation members US destinations only. Shipped media mail. You pay $4 per book (if you buy more than 1 I'll combine shipping) PP ok No returns on these as they are just catalogs. 1st in the thread wins it.
  14. I like how his shoes are still on. It's so rare to see the hulk with shoes on.
  15. I was paging thru my copy of FF 57 and ran across this splash of the moment Doom steals the Silver Surfer's Cosmic Power. Kirby felt it was important enough to warrant a full page illustration. The art is jaw dropping. SO freaking awesome! So ..... let's see some full page Kirby greatness.
  16. 66% chance for a 2.5 34% for a 3.0. Finger crossed for the 3.0. Try to clean that back cover, and straighten out that folded over flap on the spine. Congrats, I think it presents very nicely.
  17. It looks great the way it is right now. If it was a bit less CT I'd say go for it, but because of the dark brown background and the amount of CT I can see in your photo..... it would look pretty harsh.
  18. I'm sorry, you're in the wrong club. Pence copies don't count. Seriously though, that's a sweet copy. Nice centering. It's so rare to see the entire left side. Probably too much CT for CT removal unfortunately.
  19. There are some twisted writers out there.
  20. Ha! That's cool. Maybe I should ask for $10 a cover
