  1. Great Comic! Really love your story about it.
  2. I wonder if this example of "crack open a trimmed CGC plod and send it to the other guys for an unrestored label" will open the floodgates of others trying the same thing.
  3. Iceman399 Your brilliant detective work averted a travesty. The buyer should seriously think about giving you a small reward.
  4. Sooooo, since there's going to be "time travel" in "End Game"...... (even heard the rumor about Black Knight), but.... wouldn't it be COOL to pull in one of the Marvel Western heroes like Kid Colt or Two-Gun Kid??????? If the MCU did that can you imagine how the market could explode for the largely ignored Marvel/Atlas westerns.
  5. That's cool. It's like a Passport stamp showing the comics have been around the world.
  6. So here's 2 of these comics I was talking about. They're really nice.
  7. Ooooohhhh, Frazetta!!!! That perked me right up. I may have to test the waters with that one.
  8. I might do this on a couple. I'm in no rush. I'll get the best looking 3, give em a press, and send them in. (of course, even if they get 9.2s or 9.4s I still have to sell them)
  9. They have slight pressable flaws, do you think I should press them?
  10. Everything 9.0 or higher Dell Lone Ranger 39 40 48 49 52 Red Ryder 92 93 107 109 Durango Kid 2 Black Diamond 11 & 16 Cowboy Western 24 & 25 Western Hero 81 84 85 86 87 88 Western Fighters v2 1 & v2 5 Gene Autry 69 Prize Western 78
  11. I bought a small collection of about 30 GA western comics. I would normally run the other way but these are all stunningly high grade for early '50s comics. I'm sure with a press that every single one of these could grade out 9.0 and higher. There's no key-issues (is there such a thing as a western key issue?). I feel like I got a pretty good price (about $20 each), but now I'm pondering if I should do the full press and slab for all of them. That would add at least another $35-$40 for each comic in my cost. Any ideas? Is there still enough of a market to invest more $ into slabbing these?
  12. Is there evidence it has a world wide audience? I'm not even sure what season they're on. I watched a couple episodes and it didn't do much for me, did it get better? Don't get me wrong, I want it to do well. Selfishly I want huge worldwide swaths of Archie fans, who like you say, will develop an interest in the original comics (just let me get my high grade copies of want I want before they drive up the prices more).
  13. Since I started this thread many years ago I've seen an uptick in Archie collectors and ALOT more competition in bidding on certain issues.
  14. Things are pretty bad as an artist when you cant even properly foreshorten a circular shield
  15. Or is The Archie Gang #24 the new Ginger 4? (with Suzie wearing Gingers clothes)
  16. Apparently Veronica got into Gingers closet and stole her dress (and her pose). This B&V Annual came out 4 years after Ginger 4 They reversed the image and slight foreshortened the pose to make it fit on the cover better, but that's Gingers body, dress, smile, bracelets, high heels, and even finger poses. They even put Ginger's perfume bottles in the back ground.
