What do you suppose the going rate for a coverless AS8 would be? $5k? I may have a lead on one and wanted to have a good ballpark feel for an offer. Any opinions would be helpful. GPA doesn't show any coverless copies.

I just bought an Unknown Worlds 13 from a guy who swears it came out of his dad's attic where it has sat for 65 years untouched (I have to admit it looks really nice, basically unread). It has two sets of staples at the spine (upper and lower) that look original, but it also has two sets of staple holes about 3/8" in from the spine on the front cover with no staples in them. The holes go all the way through the front half of the comic to the CF. Most collectors might cry foul, that something fishy is going on here, but to me it seems that perhaps the staples were in such a bad location that they pulled them at the bindery and restapled the comic. Am I crazy or is this something that may have happened? Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon before with other GA comics? And most importantly...... how will CGC look at this if I slab it?

SOLD Wonder Comics 17 - raw - 4.0 (has a piece of tape running down the entire spine so treat it as restored or qualified) What looks like missing pieces on the spine and top are actually mostly the loss of the "color layer" of the paper. I'm thinking it might be bug chew. There is a little splitting in the middle of the spine. There is a small piece missing on the back cover at the bottom of the spine. Strange Tales 74 (DOUBLE COVER!!!) - raw - Inner cover 6.0, Outer cover 3.5 Covers and CF are snug at the staples. Outer cover has a 1/4" tear on the top edge and a 1-1/4" tear on the free edge of the back cover. Outer back cover has a large crease near the top that runs thru Charles Atlas' head. Inner back cover has a 1/8" tear. A little distributor ink on the top edge. $549 $519 shipped
