Good eye!!! Those are all I see too. That takes it to 8.5 for me, everything else is simply too gorgeous to grade it lower.

It's been years since I owned one of these. I have a friend who buys abandoned storage units and found this one inside a unit that he paid $25 for. It was the only comic in the unit unfortunately. I made him a fair "cash" offer and he jumped at it (he did really well on his $25 investment). It's at least a solid mid grade, but I wanted to see how high you guys think it could grade. No resto detected. Cover and CF are solid at the staples. Clean. MVS intact. No tears. Just a little wear and a couple of minor dimple creases.

The JIM 83 and Avengers 1 of his have resto too. He added pics to the Thor after I told him to show the bleed thru, but it's at $7000

A 1.5 went for $70.000 in Dec. Do you think a 4.0 Q will only hit $40k? It has an original CF from a different copy married into it.

I'd forgotten what a horrible costume Black Goliath has. I can't imagine that collar thing would be helpful at all.

I have found quite a variance on "small amount". The bigger thing is if it's amateur or pro color touch. Ask the seller if they know where and how much CT is on the comic.

I'm actually very curious as to what the Cap 1 4.0 Q will go for (my ungraded copy has a married Cf too and is about the same grade). Right now I'm shocked at how low it is compared to the blue 3.5.

It'll be interesting to watch these two, but it is simply not a fair fight because of the rat chew.

Wow... you sleuths are amazing. I just got out my loupe and sure enough there is an extra hole a micro distance away from where the staples are. Simply amazing, I never caught that. It is truly a married cover, unless it's a weird migration of the cover. I thought I was going to have to crack it open and look at the staple placement at the CF to look for extra holes. I feel a little foolish now. I really feel I'm very good at spotting this stuff, but I 100% missed it. I still feel the "grade" was a little harsh.
