  1. Does your son understand the historical awesomeness that he is holding?
  2. Probably.... the 12 boxes cost $800. There was also a NM xmen 266, a NM Lady Death 1, and a NM Hellboy 1 hiding in there.
  3. Bought a 12 long box collection of Moderns (ugh.... so much drek), but found some nice "Crow" issues mixed in. I just submitted this #1 1st edition to CGC.
  4. You may have a point. But I do wonder if it's been tried.
  5. You do realize that every comic book in existence has been trimmed to size right? I'm saying that if you leafcast the extra 1/16" or 1/8" to the edge and trim it to the original size that the comic would have been, then CT the appropriate color/designs to the leafcast it would restore the pretrimmed/original look. Surely this has been done to a restored comic by this time. I was just wondering if the "trimmed" designation gets removed at that point.
  6. If you buy the trimmed copy and then leafcast new edges with CT... would the "Trimming" designation go away?
  7. I would rather have this one with "slight CT" and trimming, than an "extensive resto" with all sorts of mystery pieces added.
  8. I don't have it in front of me (I just sent it in for slabbing), but I didn't see any tears at the staples.
  9. The staples are holding really well. Like I said above.... the paper quality of the cover is very thin for a cover.... that may have contributed to the staples being slightly recessed.
  10. "In hand" I don't even see that. It's SO tiny
  11. This might be a pretty rare romance comic. Being discussed on another thread. Take a look.
  12. I just looked up "TLProblems 14" on the CGC census and it shows 5 copies. If you scroll down it shows a "Logo Variant" with 1 copy graded (a 7.0). So CGC recognizes the comic as a "logo variant" of True Love Problems 14. Still it's interesting that it's not in Overstreet or on the GCD. I punched issues 13 & 15 into the census and neither of them show the "logo variant" so it may be that #14 is the only one. I personally don't think you can call it a "logo variant" if it's got a completely different name. Maybe "Title variant"? Any editors for Harvey still alive? There's got to be a reason they did this.
  13. It's a mystery!!! Come Watson, come.... the game is afoot. I can't believe that there is always something new to find, or to learn in this hobby. Who knows.... maybe there is a thread about this from 15 years ago.
  14. There are about 40 issues of "True Love Problems". I wonder if any other issues got the "Promises" variant?
  15. I mistakenly put 1942. The Love Problems is from March 1952. I'm very curious about the title change
  16. I don't have my copy in hand yet. Is this a Canadian comic? What does the indicia say? The "True Love Problems" version is from March 1952. Is that the same as this version?
  17. I just bought this Harvey romance comic, True Love Promises 14. I can't seem to find any info on it in Overstreet, GCD, or GPA Anyone know about this comic? Am I searching the wrong name?
  18. Front cover is really nice. Back cover has some rubbing near the spine. The cover paper used for this comic is really thin (I think they were cutting corners to keep the cost down?). My thought from holding this in hand is that it would be really tough to find one of these in super high grade.
