Just Curious..... what would this be worth now?

Oh no, I think they were somewhat embarrassed and relieved. They paid for shipping... and maybe even gave me a discount on the book I was having them work on.

OK.... this isn't sun fade, but..... I simply had to post it. This is on ebay right now. I'm actually not sure why this is in a green label since it's a manufacturing error (And it seems like the grade is too low). Pretty cool, I actually wouldn't mind having this, but not for $1000

Structurally really nice. Spine is nice with no splitting. Cover is sturdy at the staples, CF is well attached. Some sun-shadow on the back upper left and back lower right. Just.... the ink doodles How high can this go with the ink doodles and...... any advice on the ink doodles (I guess that's a question for CCS).

It's been a while since I came over to this thread. Any updates on how well ink doodles can be taken off of a cover? And if a "product" is used will CGC detect it and give me a PLOD? I just picked up this Superman 14. I think it would be a solid mid grade if the doodles were removed. The spine is nice with no splitting, the CF is well attached. Just..... the dang ink doodles.

In the discussion of 1st appearances..... Even a comic like Top Notch 22 is getting more attention (Archie appears in an advertisement which came out 5 days before PEP comics 22). You used to be able to get the comic for super low money, but not anymore. Collectors are paying attention to even these quirky Ad 1st appearances (a 5.0 sold for $13,200 last month) Certainly PEP 22 is the comic to have, but it's pretty interesting to see the dark haired Archie with an "S" on his sweater. I have yet to see any CGC label change for the comic.

CCS (back when it was Classics Incorporated) shipped me a TOS 39 that wasn't mine. I contacted them of course and I believe they just had me ship it to the owner. Everything worked out. Still..... bad mistake. I have to admit, at least once on ebay I have shipped comics to the wrong person. Very embarrassing. But... my mistake was a $20 mistake, not a thousands of $$$ mistake.

I find it interesting that JIM85 is basically the same price as ST110 & DD1 at 6.0.

Loki has become SO relevant in the MCU, that I think there is an argument for JIM85 to crack the top 10 (maybe at # 10)

Hmmmm..... maybe rethink this. Buy a 4.5, and then start rebuilding your collection. All of the other comics in your collection are easier to get. You might have fun rebuilding, and at the same time you will have your grail.

I personally don't mind a mix of AF15 pics, AF15 discussion, AF15 joy of ownership, and AF15 price updates. To me that's all part of being in the club. I find it all interesting.

Please show a picture of the inside spine. How much bleed thru is there along the spine? If only a dot or two then..... possibly resto removal (even though it'll put a tiny hole(s) in the comic). If there's a lot of bleed thru you'll want to leave it alone, or perhaps even add some CT to cover the scuffs at the bottom of the spine (which might increase the "apparent" grade). It's a nice looking comic. I think it's an "apparent" 5.5-6.0 right now. Still very desirable, even with the CT.

That's sounds like Urban legend, but who know's.... A friend of mine has a nice raw Action 1 and he always tells me his dad's family would take the comics & other papers (sears roebuck catalog) out to the outhouse to use as toilet paper. He likes to joke that his dad probably wiped his with an Action Comics 1.

I went to a LCS that had a whole wall filled with faded books. I know I posted pics of them at the time and other boardies posted pics, but I didn't give the thread the "Show us your...." moniker. I couldn't understand how a comic store owner could walk into his shop day after day and not see the horror of the fading.

They showed Killmonger's ulterior motives a couple of times thru the episode, but I don't remember any moment (a thoughtful pause, a sideways glance, the twisting of his mustache, etc...) where they showed Dr Strange want to do anything but help the situation.
