  1. Where's Green Lantern.

Agreed. Start with the original line up as much as possible. Start Cyborg with the Titans. 2c

They could be holding him back so there is that much more excitement when he appears. Or would you rather they go back to showing many of the high points in a movie, so then there is that to complain about?

I hope so, but it looks like they've moved away from that "unite the seven" tag line...

  2. I really enjoyed this show, and can't wait for the second season. It's like Akira and Stand By Me mixed with a pinch of Goonies, and baked in a golden flaky 80's crust. :cloud9:

The kids were the highlight of the show, I loved those little geeks.

  3. We've had some car accidents out here in Buffalo because of the app.

no worries, Former comedian and now Senator Al Franken and some NY congressman are going to try and regulate the game...make it illegal or sue Nintendo for making a dangerous game.

Maybe you guys can ban the sales on large pops while your at it

Why should big & tall dads be outlawed? hm

  4. I'd be happy if they tuned the radar function up a bit. Something will appear in my queue as nearby, but no matter which direction I walk in, it eventually disappears. The ability to trade with people is a must add, IMO. And a daily reward for signing in is a good idea. (thumbs u

  5. my 2 10km eggs hatched today...I'm lvl 9 and I got an Electobuzz (its weak but cool) and a Jynx...already had a few of them so this one was a bust.

One of my eggs disappeared instead of hatching. Only a 2km egg, but still. To make matters worse, it still counted as a use for the incubator I bought.

  6. How do you actually know when you are near something or actually find it? I don't seem to find anything. I gave it another try and walked down the block and then got in the car and went to the store before and walked around... still nothing... deleted it off my phone for now.

I really wish there was a better instruction manual.

Buzz, don't you live in NYC? I would think it would be full of pokemon and stops.

Tons of stops by my house. I pass by 5 in a 2 block walk to my local 711 each morning, as long as I take a little around the block detour. But so far all I'm catching is rattatas and pidgeys. Oh, and doosh chills from writing that in a public forum. :shy:

I just hit level 5, I'm guessing the good guys don't show up until later? Looking at the 3 closest gyms in my town, they all seem to be rocking 1000+CP Pokemon. Not sure how I'll ever beat that.

  7. What is this all about...

I've never played anything Pokemon before and would it cause too much of a distraction from Simpsons Tapped Out?

I tapped out of the Simpsons (hehe) and I'm barely doing the Deadpool daily in MPQ, so I was looking for a new mobile game.

You walk around with your phone out and the app on, and Pokemon will appear in certain areas. It then switches to your camera, and you throw your balls at them to catch them (teehee).

    21.jpg

Any famous or iconic buildings or areas have special Pokemon. A few landmarked buildings in my nabe show up on the map. Wifey caught a special one while we were driving past Citi Field today. You then find a local gym, which in my case is an actual Gold's Gym, and fight other people. I just downloaded it today, seems pretty interesting.

Of course, there's already stories out there about people using the gps function to find and rob people, and I'm looking forward to the inevitable story of someone getting hurt or killed while walking or driving while trying to catch a pikachu. But any game that encourages you to get out and walk around is pretty cool.

  8. As badly as Marvel and Hollyweird have screwed up the Wolverine character lately, I find myself hoping that Wolverine 3 is five minutes long and just rips off the Poochie death scene from the Simpsons. Imagine:

Camera pans from back to front as Hugh Jackman surveys a desolate landscape.

Zoom in on Jackman's face as he looks at the camera, opens his mouth to speak, and freeze frame.

Voice over by Denzel Washington - "I have to go now, my planet needs me."

    Jackman awkwardly flies off screen.

Screen splash written in crayon - "Wolverine died on the way to his home planet."

    Roll credits.

    lol

Hello Logan, you look like you have something to say. Do you?

Remember that photo op that featured the first picture of Aquaman?

"Unite the Seven". GL HAS to be in this movie......in spite of the fact we've seen zero additional hints of his inclusion.

    Aquaman-Poster-202x303.jpg

    :wishluck:

Green Lantern has to be in there somewhere as part of the story. Even if he comes in late in the movie.

it wouldn't kill them to save something for 'phase 2'

this is pretty much every big hero in the stable other than GL and GA. They might do better to have a loosely connected 'space' universe with GL Corps like GOTG or Firefly or something, make them 'fun'.

Also they should do a teen titans movie, but make it almost an exact remake of 'young and dangerous', just tone down the powers of the titans a bit.

A Justice League without a GL just isn't the Justice League in my book. :sumo:

Since we tend to know every detail of these movies 2 years before they're released, it's not looking like GL is going to play a major part in this.

My guess: a post-credit scene with a bruised and battered Hal crashing onto earth, warning the JL that Darkseid is coming...

  10. Nothing against anyone here, just a mental thing for myself, but when you have "design" in your username, that sends a flag for me.

My cousin is a graphic designer, an amazing one. Just the stuff she's shared with me on her job makes me wary of anyone in the hobby spouting that title.

Again, not stating anything other than how I see things. No offense meant to anyone.

I was going to change my name to Designing Women, because I loved that show. But now you've talked me out of it. :sorry:

  11. Are people still on dial up? download times of comic scans are a problem? ???
The real question is are there companies that still offer dial up services.

I remember them back in the day.

People trying to contact you on your phone could never get through. :preach:

We got in a resume today and they had an AOL email address. Not a single person in the office thought they still existed.

    lol

Yeah, I still use my AOL email, too. :shy:

  12. Let's start talking about my crack first.

I think if I take a few pics in Chicago this year and put them in my con report, we can really open up a discussion about it.

Hopefully you won't chicken out like last year.

You know what happened last year. I just don't announce everything on these boards.

I'm often amazed and befuddled the amount of highly personal stuff that some people post on the internet. Just don't get it

That was my point with deleting.I made that post late last night, didnt mean to say this thread should be deleted....meant to say the Chip Go Fund Me thread should be deleted, for Chip's sake.

Of course his name is still plasteted over the internet elsewhere but those other threads are several years old.

In any event, my job advice was solid.

Construction, as an entry level laborer ( no exp needed) takes the cake over a McDonald's or Walmart job.

His own feelings of self worth will NOT be positively effected by slinging fries at Mc D's or stocking shelves st Walmart.

A manual labor job, will require a lot of hard work on his part, which will help him mentally in terms of self respect.

The job I linked to offered benefits, as well.Any job in construction, starting out as a laborer has room for advancement to a crew foreman, if you pick the trade up and work hard...expect to put in 1-3 years of a laborer before becoming a crew foreman.

There is also comradery with the guys you work with while you're busting your a** , under the sun in the summer...and in the cold of the winter months...

.......you don't get any of that when you take a job where you're stocking shelves in a soul crushing Walmart warehouse or asking a 15 year old kid if he wants to super size his value meal for an additional 99 cents.

As far as the comment by another boardie about deletingChip's posting history on here as "hiding" the facts from a potential employer....I'd say that his posts here are really just embarrassing, and if he truly wants to get his life together, and is eager to work instead of asking others for money, you should not have issue with his taking steps in that direction.

There are a million other reasons why he shouldn't have his life spilling out over a public forum, as well.

And based on the completely inaccurate and asinine things you continue to post here, I wouldn't hire you to fluff the most syphilitic on the set of a porn shoot.

1-3 years to go from no experience to foreman of a crew? Is that how you ended up building a fire pit the size of Rhode Island?

Haha...pray tell, what is your work background?

How many years of experience do you have working construction?

    Do you have any certs?

I've got 20 years in & have ran 2-6 man crews for almost 18 years.

    ICPI & NCMA certified installer.

...oh and yeah, I have a job.

    But thanks ;)

    lol

Sure. I'm a 10 year member of the Discrict Council of Carpenters, local 608, then local 157, I've got certs in Sheetrock, stick framing, metal framing, welding, track work, rigging, tile, concrete forms, fire stop, scaffolding, aerial lift, hardware, and suspended ceilings. I'm also a shop steward, OSHA certified, have a CPR card from AHA, trained in first aid, certified to use powder actuated guns, and I've seen the Excorcist about 167 times, and it keeps getting funnier every single time I've seen it.

Now what do you think? You think I'm qualified?

And while we're waving our at each other, let's have an understanding, shall we? I respect landscapers. A great one can do magical things to open space, transforming it into something truly beautiful. But don't call it construction. It's landscaping. There's a difference between placing some pavers in Mrs. McGillicuddy's backyard, and building a house, or in my case, a skyscraper. (thumbs u

But can you build a fire pit without a back hoe?

Thanks for that, I thought I was going to have to dig out all my certs, and personally, I'm too lazy lol

There's more I'm sure, that's just off the top of my head.
