All 4 of my copies from Midtown are second printing. Charity aside, we all know for collectors the only thing that will matter is the CGC label which will read "Second Printing". Yea what a bummer. Im surprised Midtown didn't notify its customers that it would be the 2nd print shipping out and not the 1st print. One solution would be to scrap the first print run entirely, but this is for a charity so that's just not an option. I hope they place those corrected stickers neatly on the 1st prints.

Midtown is sold out online but I just passed by the west 40th store and they had a healthy stack on the shelf, picked up another 2.

Just stumbled across this thread, all I have to say is...

Scored a Darkhawk #5 jcpenny variant for $18 on eBay. I'd been looking for one at a decent price for awhile.

10th known copy on eBay this morning, also from Florida. I'll be getting it slabbed as well.

Here's a photo of the indicia. Nothing jumped out at me but maybe someone else may see something that could help explain the issue.

I contacted the seller of the recent 302 "logo variant" I won on eBay to see what they knew about the origin. The seller stated they had purchased a lot of about 100 books from a collector. I did notice almost all those other books were newsstands - so maybe the "logo variants" where utimately sold there.

Seems like the action figure/video game theory has been thoroughly explored to no success. I found the original cover art on comic art fans and I noticed that the UPC box has the Direct Market text but the price box has the Newsstand information which may have added to the confusion when printing occurred.
