  1. I kind of like the cover on this one. Looking at the back cover is actually cooler. The artist name is spelled backwards.
  2. Here's another Superman Vs. Aliens. Still not too many high grade digests out there. Believe me I've been looking. I wonder...what issue Galactic Golem came out of???
  3. Any stories you may have while collecting comics through out the years?
  4. I like this book particularly. Love the original art on front AND back cover. Especially the classic quote on the back cover. "THEY CAME TO EARTH!" I haven't seen a nicer book than the book below.
  5. No particular special of this digest. Just need to fill my run. And again no advertisement on the back cover. Love these digests.
  6. I find this digest to be fun to look at. Cool cover. I have been thinking to start a Jimmy Olsen run.
  7. I believe this is the only 9.8 on census.
  8. Well...it's never to late to start again.
  9. I absolutely love this cover. Too me it looks very old school seeing Superman, Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Perry White all on the same cover. I have a readable copy. I thought by adding this inside front cover that display the table of contents, and the inside back cover that gives a little bit history of the of the Daily Planet would be nice to share.
  10. I agree with you, but to insure my digests safety CGC holders are the best way to go.
  11. I bought this book on Ebay raw sometime last year. 8 years ago BobCat (ebay seller) had this up for auction. At the last minute I was out bid. I called Bob and asked him if he had another copy, and he did not. When I got this graded as a 9.8 I was supper happy.
  12. , that battle is already over before it started.... The young man from Vancouver has the 100 pagers wrapped up.... I wish he would sell me one of those Winnipeg 9.8's though.... Not fair that he as all of them... Yeah I know...it just nice to show our 100 pages.
  13. The Battle of The 100 Pages Begins!!!
  14. This book supposed to be in a treasury format but it was cancelled due to the DC Implosion of 1977 & 78. This might be one of the toughest digests to find in high grade.
  15. I acquired this book from BobCat (ebay seller) some years ago. I recently got it graded some time late last year. I particularly like this book because if it's patriotism. You'll notice Earth-2 Batman is the artitech.
  16. I was able to get a really good price on ebay for this book. These digests are so undervalued and so overlooked. If you go on ebay right now they're mostly VF's or below. Like I was saying... these books were thought of re-printable material in early 80's. Not collectibles.
  17. Here's another 2 different type of paper pulp they used in Best of DC #60 when printing.
  18. I purchased this book about 8 years ago from BobCats ebay seller (Whom I considered the best ebay seller of raw books of all-time). I recently got it graded early this year. The story contains the first origin story of the Penguin.
  19. Ar the entire pages like that? Just from the edge view, that looks exactly like what happens from someone reading it. Take a look at a paperback book that has been read halfway and you'll see that's what happens. Yes. What you see on the edge view is the same color tone of the entire pages.
  20. This is interesting. At the image below shows a digest that has 2 different page qualities. Almost half of the pages in the digest has a darker tone than the rest. Some of the digests I've been collecting has this same defect. Is it due to poor storage OR is it a different pulp they were using while these books being printed? I asked a grader is how to determine the page quality of the book. He said the top page and the bottom page has to have the same color tone. I thought twice about getting this book graded because the pages were the same quality as the image above that has a darker tone. But it got graded as "Cream to Off-White". I tripled checked this book of the page quality and the top and bottom pages has the same color tone. So I don't know. These digests books are plagued by production flaws.
