  1. Smooth transaction and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again. Thanks for the great book Mike.
  2. Slab 'em and sell them in time for the next season to start, then buy some SA goodness Jerome Slab and sell. Probably worth slabbing the first ten, then issue 19, and 27. Sell the rest as high grade raw. Then turn that $$ into silver age material. +1 To me, it's like cashing out on a hot, for the moment, pink sheet or OTC day traded penny stock and then buying into long term stocks with slower, but historically more reliable growth potential.
  3. What? Is that all? No Harrison Ford or James Earl Jones sigs? Seriously, you need to hand out toilet paper and depends before showing off these books. I think I just myself.
  4. How did I miss this cool thread! This is currently my only entry. Carrie Fisher aka Princess Leia I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of another Star Wars book that I submitted this past May for SS by Dave Prowse (Darth Vader), Perter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett). Yup, I am a bit of a Star Wars fan boy.
  5. No new comic books for me in the past few weeks, but... I got some new comic art! These both arrived yesterday. Time to update my sig line. I'm not usually drawn to interior panel pages, but these are big panels and feature nice close-ups of the Surfer and Firelord. Instantly fell for this page when I saw it. My wife commented that it must have been chilly in the jungle that day as Tara's nips are standing at attention in every panel! This is a 2 page spread on one board that includes the title splash page. I'm still trying to track down the book this was published in. I think I have a lead, but have not found an issue for sale (at a reasonable price) to confirm. If you know, please share. Thanks in advance!

  7. This day just keeps getting better! Just got an email from comic artist Steve Erwin that the Batman sketch I requested at the 2012 Dallas ComicCon a few weeks ago is ready and will be on its way to me shortly. I really dig the work he did for DC and own an original page he penciled. I got on his sketch list midday on Sunday, but was not able to pick it up by the end of the Con so he offered to mail it to me FOR FREE! Steve is a top notch guy and I hope to see him at the next show.
  8. Just recently got these in the mail. Harley Quinn by Randy "Rantz" Kintz Silver Surfer by Greg LaRocque Emma Frost by Greg LaRocque
  9. So does this make my other 9.6 I picked up last year that is not a File Copy more scarce and ultimately more valuable!
  10. When I nab the Boston 9.8, you can have my 9.8 OW File Copy (thumbs u You are the man PiP! Are you sure Stewart won't mind it going to me when you upgrade? I suppose we could arm wrestle for it or something...
  11. Oh my glob! An Adventure Time fan are you? My wife and I love that cartoon.
  12. This just arrived yesterday and now I finally have a file copy of this book! Silver Age Kirby cover and one of the few high grade copies that does not carry a CROW or lower page designation.

  14. Huh?!? Unless someone wiped their on the back cover, that looks WAAAY better than a 7.0! +1 If the BC is as nice as the FC and it did grade that low it would have to be due to some interior defects that are not visible in the scan. Very nice looking book. However, there is nothing wrong with being super strict and under grading on nice key books! Especially, if you are selling too me. Seriously though, I tend to be real tough when grading and negotiating on the raw keys I buy (I usually only buy raw books in person) to send to CGC. This way I am rarely disappointed when the grades come back and, in most cases, I'm pleasantly surprised as I end up paying a price that get most people the same book, but at a few notches lower on the CGC grading scale.
  15. Old is right... you've been collecting GA books longer than I've been alive! (I'm 28) I see myself as simply a comic collector and not a SA collector as I never really limited my collecting focus to the one era. Sure, most of my books are SA, but I have a few GA and BA books thrown in for good measure too. No moderns though... I'll just read those on my iPad or as TPBs. I just simply enjoy picking up the best copies I can at prices I feel are fair for the books I want. Sometimes it's a 6.5 (like my Daredevil 1) and sometimes it is a 9.8 (like my FF 59). If I came across 2 copies of a particular book I want that present nearly the same on the exterior, but differ in grade and price based on interior defects I will always take the better overall book for the higher price even if they looked nearly the same once slabbed. Presentation is very important of course, but I prefer a book that is solid in all aspects and not just cover aesthetics. It's just the way I'm wired. (thumbs u I feel it is safe to say that anyone who has bought a slabbed book has taken at least a little bit of the info on the label (page quality, listed interior defects, etc.) under consideration when deciding on a purchase. So, in a broader sense, I feel anyone who has ever bought a slabbed book could be considered a label chaser (some more extreme than others). I know this is an SA thread, but I'll show some GA love for you sacentaur! Single top book on the census and a Crowley pedigree copy to boot!
  16. From one Marvel Maniac to the next. Do you think this might do the trick? The label on the medication states... "Slobodian Copy. One dose will do ya!" Wow MC! Just seeing that scan is suppressing my Marvel fever a bit... beautiful book man! Here is my prescription I picked up about 3 weeks ago, but forgot to post it here. SA high grade Neal Adams Batman book with White pages!
  17. Hey, stick to your pedigree avengers! Leave some peds in other titles for the rest of us.
  18. I love that batman 156! My most recent SA Batman addition is this copy of issue 200 (I need to invest in a proper scanner ):
  19. Advice? You must be joking. Feedback? None needed. You appear to know exactly what you're doing as you are spot on! +1 The only advice I would dare give you Steve is to let me know when you decide you want to part with some of these beauties, because I WILL be interested. Extremely sharp and well presenting copies.
  20. Welcome to the darkside Silver Age side. A friendly warning... there is no cure for Marvel fever. It is rumored that picking up a few SA DC books help mitigate the side effects though... at least that is what I tell myself when I pick up a SA Batman book. You're in the right place so keep posting your new acquisitions. Nice books BTW.
  21. Holy sheeeit! BAM! unbelievable book. fantastic get. Thanks guys.
