  1. I'm sad for me cause these prices are too much to handle at the moment.

But happy for the seller - especially since they are a boardie - Congratz! :golfclap:

But I did manage to snag another one on my preferred hunting list... The 8.5 TOS 31 is mine

I know C-OW but the cover looked too good not to try.

  2. and the JIM 56 8.5 went for $2,322!

Holy carp! We have a new player who is not messing around to complete their run :o

.....that is a very tough book in grade....GOD BLESS....

-jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u

I agree, and the fact that at least two people shot high for it with snipes helped it out nicely as well. $1000+ jump in last few seconds.

I'm just PO'd cause I can never land this baby :frustrated:

  3. Did any of you see what the 9.0 WP JIM 76 (variant) just ended for on CLink... WOW JUST WOW.

It looks like we had two big time snipers who really really wanted to win that book. My late bid was bloooown out of the water lol

Gorgeous book though... but I am still in shock considering the exact same book sold 1.5 yrs ago for just under $800. 300% increase in 17 months = Awesome

Congrats to the seller if they are among us :applause:

  4. This was one of the very first prehero books to catch my attention many years ago... thanks to a cover pic in overstreet I think. Nnice to finally have a decent copy :)

Love this book also. This one still eludes my near complete TOS PH set. Holding out of a nice mid+grade one like this.

    :golfclap:

  5. STATUS UPDATE:

CGC has kindly agreed to the recommendation Darker Image 1 is the 1st appearance of The Maxx, and going forward the label will reflect this detail.

    :whee:

    :golfclap: Awesome great job!

So would that make the Ashcans the first first appearance of The Maxx? ;)

PS: We sooooo need a Edgar Wright directed The Maxx movie :cloud9:

  6. I posted in comics general:

Although I was only at the NY Comic Con for a few hours on Saturday afternoon, I managed to lose a book and would appreciate any assistance in discovering its whereabouts. I can't be certain whether I misplaced it or whether it was lifted so I would not want anyone to draw conclusions if you spot someone that has it.

I'm very careful keeping track of my books and this is the first time in 25 years going to Comic Cons that this has happened.

That sucks, sorry to hear about it and such a nice book too. I will definitely keep my eyes open for this one and let you know if I see it pop up anywhere.

  7. Nice TOS! These 2 just came back from CGC:

The TTA #33 is the lone HGC, so I'm a little jazzed!! :headbang:

Those are nice books. I love the later pre-heros, the stories were much more developed than the earlier issues!

What can I say Rich...your Pre-Hero collection is soaring to the heavens! :headbang:

I concur... I love watching Rich post his new finds!

  8. Glad I could find an audience to share with who appreciates them as much as I do.

Oh yes it is appreciated... And those of us working on our own ST pre-hero runs know how hard this set is to build let alone in high grade like you have done. You should be proud of such a beautiful run.
