  1. Well...I finally finish watching the last two episodes, and all I have to say is Hopefully it will start to pick up.
  2. I would've gone to Heritage in a heart beat.
  3. LOL! I registered here 3/27/02 and rarely post, compared to other boardies. Trust me, this isn't about me. You and I both know that this auction would have never been sanctioned by Steve if he were alive today. Period. This is just a simple cash grab by interested parties that have a huge financial gain. It seems to me that you also have a vested interest in this auction.
  4. I don't care about anything you have to say.
  5. At the end of the day it doesn't really matters what I think, those books are gonna sell like hot cakes regardless.
  6. I met Stan Lee in 1986 at a show and also shook his hand. After meeting Ditko my life is now complete. I can now die in peace.
  7. There were times that he really enjoyed talking about the comic book industry. Then there were times that he wasn't in the best of moods and would cut me short. One time he spoke for over half an hour.
  8. There's another thread I believe titled "I met Steve Ditko".
  9. I am not buying this, I met and spoke to Steve Ditko at least four different times at his office in NYC. Heck, I even introduced him to Greggy! When I asked him if he still had any old Spidey comics, he made it very clear that he didn't want to do anything with Spider-man, because that was in his past. When he returned to Marvel in 1979 he told Jim Shooter that he would draw anything but, Spider-man and Doctor Strange. He even turned down the return of his original art work to Amazing Fantasy #15. There's probably an old thread that I started when I first met him about 15 years ago or so. Maybe someone can dig it up.
  10. I was talking about pics of your significant other.
  11. Just finish watching it with the kids and we all liked it. Looking forward to more episodes.
  12. So...I thought I would wrap this up. About a month later this arrived.
  13. How was I was trying to take advantage of his situation? Did he need the money to pay his rent? Did I put a gun to his head and force him to accept the offer? He never even told me that it would be $500 or more for a sketch. He basically saw an opportunity to get some beer money for a sketch.
  14. Correct me if Iam wrong, didn't you snap a FF #49 CGC 9.6 on ebay back in the day for a BIN price of $650.00?
  15. Are you still sitting on that bronze age collection that you picked up back in the day?
  16. He told me that he didn't want to do a rush job, that's why he offered to take it home to do it. Like I said, this was my first and last time that I ever requested a sketch.
  17. Back around 2009 I was shooting the breeze with a couple of boardies at the NY Comic Con. It was Friday night towards the end of the show, when I noticed that Andy Kubert was all by himself at his booth. I decided to approach him and make small talk with him regarding his work on X-men. I noticed that he was selling some sketches of mostly Marvel Super Heroes for $500 bucks. I then asked him how much for a sketch of Wolverine on The Marvel Projects sketch blank. He told he would do it for $500 bucks, but, that he would have to do it at home because he had already committed to do too many sketches for that weekend. I told that I only had $200 bucks and that was all I was really willing to pay for a sketch. He said he would do it for $200 bucks since it was Friday night and he needed beer money. I gladly paid him and gave him my home address and my business card. He told me he would have done in a couple of weeks and then ship it to my house. BTW, this was my first and only time I ever requested a sketch from a comic book artist in my 44 years of collecting comics. Does anyone care to guess how this ended?
  18. Sweet list, are these mostly raws or are there a few graded copies?
