  1. Is toughness one of her powers? I read some Avengers in the 80s featuring her, but I forget her power set. I also just remembered that she explicitly said Wanda protected her as she flew through the walls. Was she lying about that to hide her powers?

  3. I would think they'd make Reed an astrophysicist, but maybe they'll give him like 10 science degrees. Is Rhodes an aerospace engineer?
  4. Yep, and your guess sounds like the right one. We also saw that they couldn't do an X-ray of her without it being full of light. Does that imply she's already got her powers? She seemed to know why they couldn't x-ray her, too, since she told them not to bother with trying again, and that's a second confirmation she's already got her Photon powers.
  5. Then stay outta this thread until you watch! Yea that's been my protocol since forever. I never click a tv show thread until I've seen the latest episode.
  6. Plus he's got a New Jersey driver's license just like all the others. They're all most likely people who lived in the area and got sucked into the town. Wait, one of those New Jersey driver's licenses is probably the person Woo was looking for who was in witness protection. So that could still be Herb.
  7. Forgot about that. Bringing these Fox actors into the MCU suggests they won't be considering the Fox films another universe in the MCU multiverse.
  8. The most logical thing to do at this point would be to call Nick Fury or the Avengers to talk to Wanda. Anybody think we'll be seeing Clint or Natasha next episode?
  9. Absolutely. I've probably re-watched that scene around 20 times on Youtube over the last decade...Fassbender's intensity in it is spellbinding.
  10. I've been on the edge of getting that for most of the last year. The reason I didn't is it's almost entirely the same as their Monster Venom figure but with a repaint, a new head sculpt, and all of those new tendrils in his back, so it felt like too much of a re-issue to get another of the same figure since I already had Monster Venom. But if you don't have the other versions of this one that sculpt is AMAZING, one of the best Hasbro Marvel figures they've ever made. So much detail, so well-constructed, it's just awesome.
  11. I think he's my favorite actor from any X-Men film, period, aside from perhaps Patrick Stewart. First film I saw him in was 300, but it was a relatively minor part, and all of the Spartans looked so similar in their armor that he didn't stand out much. After that I loved him in Inglorious Basterds, caught my attention immediately. And I love Prometheus, too. He was originally going to have his own standalone Magneto film, but that got scrapped and all of the background content from First Class about the character was taken from the Magneto film screenplay. LOVED every moment of that stuff almost entirely due to his performance, and it's one of the reasons I still rank First Class among the top fifteen superhero films ever made.
  12. I forgot about Agent Carter. I never saw it, nor Agents of SHIELD. So aside from quick references in the Netflix shows we have Carter and Fury in those shows, Coulson in Agents of SHIELD, and I've heard Sif was in Agents of SHIELD as well. Were there other crossovers from the films? Does Agents of SHIELD take place before the events of the first Avengers film? I just realized the show started after he supposedly died. Anyone like this show? I didn't watch it because I was never an Avengers fan growing up, and didn't really start feeling like a fan until a year after the first film came out. But SHIELD still didn't interest me, and it still doesn't fully, but I'm far more interested now than I was when the show was actually airing.
  13. So we knew this was coming from leaks, and now we've seen it so it's time to ask--why was Fox Quicksilver in this episode? I'm glad they at least had Darcy note that they "recast the part" within the narrative because if she hadn't said that it's possible we were supposed to think as fans that was supposed to be her reincarnated dead brother played by a new actor. He shows up as appearing in one episode in the IMDB credits. I don't know if he showed up there before today, but I watched the episode an hour after it was released and he was in the credits then. I kind of doubt they updated them overnight, but who knows, maybe they did. I'm guessing they had a set of core characters that weren't surprises that they released episode info for, but the surprise characters probably aren't in the credits for now. My greatest hope is that they pull Michael Fassbender in as Magneto. He's not the right age at 43 to be the dad of Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson who are both around 31, but that's a plus and they can easily age him up a bit with minimal makeup. We already know they're pulling Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool from the Fox films, so also pulling Fassbender isn't a stretch. He played the part perfectly, and it's difficult to imagine them casting the part much better.
  14. The Marvel television shows from Netflix as well as Agents of SHIELD are supposed to be MCU canon, but there wasn't crossover probably because of the feud between Feige who ran the films and Perlmutter who ran the shows. The shows referenced events from the movies, but I don't think any of the films ever referenced the shows. The references in the shows were usually quick and in passing, or they were just easter eggs in the backgrounds of scenes. The only one I remember for now is a Daredevil episode mentioning the Chitauri invasion of New York from the first Avengers film. I'm sure Feige will mostly forget the shows since they were mostly produced separately from his own MCU planning. There could be a few elements he will pull in. We do know they're pulling in Charlie Cox to play Daredevil in the next Spider-Man film.
  15. In a mediocre way during the first half, but in the second half it was the HULK SMASH! action fans demand--and fans absolutely screamed bloody murder about that first half being not what they wanted.
  16. Plus he's got a New Jersey driver's license just like all the others. They're all most likely people who lived in the area and got sucked into the town.
  17. That makes sense to me as the lines between them blur so much that I barely care about the difference. Merging them into just HYDRA seems like a good simplification. I didn't watch Agents of SHIELD so I dunno what they may have said there.
  18. Emmy awards are always on the table because they have different (lower) standards. Oscars are within the realm of possibility, but not for most Marvel films. The fans want sci-fantasy superhero action entertainment--myself included--not works designed to improve humanity. Christopher Nolan came the closest anyone has to having superhero fiction transcend the genre they're in, but ultimately he wanted out because what he wants to do the most in film isn't what fans of the genre want. It's fun for a while, but he wanted to get back to work pushing the envelope. I suspect it's possible to create a superhero genre film that focuses on more universal themes, but nobody's done it yet on screen. Any such film would have to mostly discard the fantasy elements that are a core part of almost every popular superhero's design.
  19. Why would the MCU have Strucker and HYDRA as the ones experimenting on Wanda, Pietro, and the rest of Sokovia? That sounds like what AIM is for. When Wanda freaked after seeing the beekeeper it could be because she remembers AIM beekeepers from her past in Sokovia. If it's AIM, then it's within the realm of possibility we'll be seeing MODOK floating out at some point. I find it likely that they may have inserted in Strucker as the head of AIM instead of MODOK. A giant-headed guy would be hard for the average viewer to swallow as not being ludicrous.
  20. Sinister literally has "bad guy" in his name! His wife gave him that name just because he dug up their dead son to do genetic experimentation on him. Is it really his fault that she lacked his vision?
  21. You could argue the same about Mr. Sinister. Both of them don't seem to give a hoot about experimenting on innocents and potentially sacrificing them in the name of advancing humanity's control of genetic evolution.
  22. The only thing I'm sure of with Woo is the reason he was supposedly there makes at BEST half-sense. Somebody manipulated him into going there and wanted SWORD to start monitoring Westview.
  23. If he's more of scientist there to learn from and further experiment on Wanda it would explain his presence there, but yea, he's not the mastermind. HYDRA could be the mastermind. Or maybe Mephisto. Or maybe even all of them working together.
  24. Good thought. I don't know what the wall-cutting scene was about. I heard someone suggest it was a metaphor for him trying to break out of Westview, but I have no idea. From the Wakanda Files book we know that Strucker and HYDRA were experimenting on people in Sokovia because they had reason to believe that had higher genetic potential than the average human. The High Evolutionary could have been using Sokovia for genetic testing. If he were experimenting with all Sokovians but only Wanda and Pietro survived, why would that be? A possibility is that it's because they were mutants, and the experiments evolved their latent mutant ability into something far more powerful. That leaves room for the unified comic versions of Wanda and Pietro--their mutation was present but not emergent, Magneto could still be the source of those mutant genes, and High Evolutionary unlocked their powers by continuing their evolution. So that would explain why High Evolutionary wants to watch them--he could have been working with HYDRA, or simply aware of what Strucker's experiments created, and wants to be in Westview to study and experiment further on Wanda.
