  1. BKV says he plans Saga to be "longer than Y and Ex Machina combined." Doing the math, that means at least 110 issues. My guess, he's planning this for a 10-year run. http://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/qk6ux/i_am_brian_k_vaughan_writer_of_the_new_image/
  2. we're overdue for another Chew...eventually i'll stop rolling snake eyes and get those double sixes. I'm afraid it just doesn't work that way. You also appear to be missing the hot titles lately. There are too many eyes on Image #1's right now for us to see the next Chew anytime soon. Complete speculation based on nothing but my gut instinct - the next Chew is a Dark Horse book coming out in the next few months.
  3. Mile High has a bad habit of selling you 10 and sending you 2 (8 out of stock). They also have a bad habit of slapping a NM sticker on virtually any grade comic they send you. I've seen them slap NM/M stickers on VF books, so I feel your pain.
  4. Cover for #3 has been revealed. How's this for an attention grabbing image:
  5. Just looked at a preview and the art's not doing it for me.
  6. We have to be, right? I mean, why have BKV and Staples at the Image Expo only to have them say, "Buy our book in 2 1/2 weeks."
  7. It's probably fair to say that most BKV fans are trade waiters. Makes you wonder if this will affect preorders at all.
  8. BKV is a creator with a lot of appeal coming back to comics after a hiatus. McFarlane is arguably more popular, but Haunt was the best comparison I could come up with for an Image book. If it only does 35K, then I think it will be a sell out for sure.
  9. I think I agree with you about this being a bad comic to speculate on...in the short term. Even if it does 50-60K, it will be under ordered considering what it is. The advanced reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, so I think it's a book people will be interested in long term.
  10. Agreed. I'm just starting Ex Machina. Read the first volume tonight and so far I like it a lot.
  11. We're less than a month away, so might as well start the discussion now. I was thinking about what kind of numbers this book will do. It's been heavily hyped and highly anticipated, so I don't think it's going to take anyone by surprise like a Chew or a NonPlayer. The only Image comic from recent years that I can recall being as anticipated by fans was Kirkman/McFarlane on Haunt back in 2009. Haunt #1 ended up being in the top 30 books for the month with just over 50K sold. Let's set the over/under for SAGA at 60K. Any predictions?
  12. I haven't read, so I can say whether or not the story is good. I didn't care for the art though. I thought about pre-ordering it, but decided against. I had another chance to snag a copy at the LCS, but the art turned me off.
  13. Fatale #1 3rd print arrives 2/22, the 2nd print of #2 comes in the week after. I'm guessing we'll see black and white versions of the Beast cover for the 3rd printing of #1 and a black and white version of #2 for that reprint.
  14. I think those Batman #4 numbers are reorders from the previous month.
  15. I would prefer a different cover myself. Would love to know print runs on first books as well. 20,515 for the first issue. http://www.icv2.com/articles/markets/22085.html
  16. Nope, but I love me some Severed! Either Ninjettes or Kevin Keller.
  17. The cover with the white border around the artwork is the 1st print. The cover with the full bleed cover art is 2nd print. there are 2 different covers with different fonts for the nonplayer title, both being sold as 1st prints. Was there a variant cover that came out with the 1st printing? Not to my knowledge. Got any pics?
  18. Then he should get it graded and sell it for $200. Seriously, this book is not even a year old yet. Movie buzz will help it for a while, but it's no guarantee long term unless it actually gets made. As much as I liked the first issue, I have serious reservations about whether we'll ever see the story completed in comic form.
  19. The cover with the white border around the artwork is the 1st print. The cover with the full bleed cover art is 2nd print.
  20. I would not pay $125 for a raw copy of this book. $15-$20 seems about right for a raw copy.
