  1. Congrats to the seller. Too much for that book though considering it just came out two months ago.
  2. The actual numbers for the first print are higher than 37k in reality. The 37k projection is for U.S. initial orders and doesn't include U.K. orders or reorders. When publishers receive their numbers from Diamond, they don't get a breakdown of where the orders came from, just the totals.
  3. +1 I tried The Boys and couldn't get past the first issue. Ennis' Preacher had heart which I find lacking in his more recent works.
  4. Which came out first - Archer and Armstrong 0 or 1? #0 came out first. A month before #1.
  5. Hear that? It's the sound of everybody throwing copies of these books on eBay at the same time.
  6. +1. I thought #1 was very good, but #2 really pulled me into the series.
  7. 12. I have a feeling it will sell tonight. Did I mention that if it doesn't, the buy-it-now price might go up tomorrow?
  8. I'm surprised. I know if I really wanted something with a limited quantity (which this is) I'd pay the extra $$ to make sure I get it no questions asked.
  9. Yep, sitting on a $300 offer right now. Since Krighton's auction is already up to $300 with 5 hours to go, I'm not accepting that offer just yet. My prediction is once the auction gets closer to $350, one of the bidders will pull the trigger on the buy-it-now.
  10. IMO, ebay is actually pretty safe for buyers. Paypal has your back and if that fails, your credit card company offers even more protection. Sure it's a PITA going through the process, but it's not so much of a PITA that it prevents me from picking up the occasional book from ebay. As a seller, ebay terrifies me. There are so many ways for buyers to screw you over, it's ridiculous. +1 eBay is definitely slanted in favor of buyers.
  11. This I agree with. If the seller gives a refund of their own volition, then this is the scenario where eBay won't let the negative stand. However, if they are forced to provide a refund via eBay or Paypal claim, that might be another story entirely.
  12. I saw the negative left for this same book. I agree it's likely the same copy, but I thought a buyer couldn't leave a negative on eBay if the item is returned for a full refund. Is that how it works, or am I making it up? Edit: To clarify, not that a buyer CAN'T leave negative feedback, but that eBay would remove it if the seller provides a full refund.
  13. I just tried to help you by making an offer of $200 on his auction but he wasn't a very good friend to you. He rejected the offer. I tried. Seth Yep, I'm not in any big hurry to sell it, so I'm not accepting less than $300 on eBay.
  14. Yours ends sooner and starts at a lower price. I haven't gotten any offers on mine yet, so maybe your copy is killing mine.
  15. +1 I'm sitting on at least 10-15 raw 9.8 copies of #1. With a 37K print run and all the advanced hype, the graded 9.8 supply will exceed demand at some point in the near future.
  16. You think that's bad? That's nothing. I received a copy yesterday taped to the inside of the box. Yes, you read that correctly. The seller taped a weird mylar half-sleeve to the box and then taped the half sleeve to the front cover of the book. Maybe this was all arranged differently when he sent it off, but that's the way it arrived and it looked intentional. Fortunately, I am truly amazing when it comes to tape removal and, after a half hour with scissors and a steady hand, I was able to liberate the book without any tape pulls. Easily the worst packing I've ever seen in 15 years of buying books online. I'm surprised you tried to fixed it. If I opened a box and saw tape on the cover of the very pricey RRP I purchased, it would be going straight back to the seller.
  17. So, I bought two Saga RRPs from eBay and they've both come in over the last few days. The first copy was described as "NM" and I guess it is, except there's a weird waviness to the back top left corner. A couple of minor spine dings on the back cover as well. It's probably a 9.2 to 9.4 and might press higher, so I'm keeping this one. The second was described as "NM or better, best copy on eBay" and was, ironically, worse than the other copy. Good sized ding to the lower left corner, small color-breaking spine ticks, bend to the upper left corner. It's hard to tell if the damage happened in transit, or if it was that way before. Regardless, this one is going back to the seller. I think the moral of this story is, the raw copies you see on eBay "may" be the dregs in terms of condition. The NM/M copies were probably cherry picked at C2E2 and are on their way to CGC as we speak.
  18. Average price of $107.90. The bar has been set. Don't anybody go out and buy one for a penny over that figure.
  19. Does anyone have a count on how many have sold since last week?
  20. It's limited to 500 copies per Diamond.
  21. Also true. He's very selective with his projects, concentrating on one book at a time, and I think that shows in the quality. But, man, the ending of Ex Machina was such a bummer. Same goes for Y: The Last Man. Good endings, just sad. The ending to Y was..........incredibly awesome!! The last scene with Ampersand. Man... I think that's the only time I teared up reading a comic.
