  1. This is truly a mystery since theoretically this is part of the process that should be running most efficiently at this stage in CGC's existence. What's strange is how quickly they turn around reholder submissions. I submitted a reholder last summer at the height of the backlog and got it back in less than 2 weeks.
  2. I checked on a Modern pre-screen submission that's been stuck at graded for over two weeks. This was the response: "Pre-screens always run longer then the base turn time of the regular service, usually at least 2-3 weeks longer due to volume and the extra processing it takes to handle the books. These were just in the last stages of encapsulation this week, so I still expect at the very least another week or two on them." First, shouldn't pre-screens move at the same pace as regular submissions once graded? I know pre-screens supposedly take longer than regular submissions, but I thought that extra time was for work performed prior to grading. Am I missing something here? Second, should it really take 3-4 weeks for encapsulation? That seems like a long time, basically 1/3 to 1/2 the total TAT.
  3. Runaways has been popping for $45-$60 recently. There was an announced movie in2012 but news came out it was shelved in 2013. In February there was news it may not be so dead yet. I'll take the blame for the sudden heat on this book. I've been buying these up here on the boards and on eBay for $20 and under for months. There hasn't been any recent news that would cause it heat up as much as it has, so I'll attribute it to my hoarding.
  4. Two weeks later and no movement. You'd think they would want to get the prescreen invoices out the door ASAP after grading so they can get their money.
  5. Modern Non-FT pre-screen: Received 2/24 Verified 2/25 Scheduled for Grading 4/1 Graded 4/9 Grading/QC ?? Shipped ??
  6. Scheduled for grading 3/7 Still at scheduled for grading as of today. Is this the step where prescreen takes the extra 15 days? I may be wrong, but I think the pre-screen is already done once the books are scheduled for grading.
  7. Modern fast track seems to be running way behind... Rec'd 2/19 Still in graded status as of 3/12 (about a week in this status)
  8. TATs are getting better! Modern Pre-screen (Non-FT) Received 12/02 Shipped 01/21 I hope this is the new normal.
  9. Registered mail takes longer than regular Priority. I sent a large box registered mail across the country last week and it arrived in 5 days which is on the quick side. Scans won't show up until it's about to be delivered, but it will arrive.
  10. Beautiful scan (thumbs u What settings do you use? Still working on ousting the light glare from my own scans... I used the HP software and scanned at 300 dpi. I maxed out the sharpness and slightly played up the contrast. Didn't have an issue with glare on this book, but it's the only one I've tried so far.
  11. Testing out my (sort of) new Scanjet 8250. Still playing around with the settings:
  12. Spider-man, Spider-man 2, Spider-man 3, Amazing Spider-man and Amazing Spider-man 2.
  13. Just picked up a couple of Ivan Reis Resurrection Man covers. Sick detail on the art.
  14. Does anybody else see a Roy Harper junkie storyline coming a mile away following the events of last episode?
  15. Marked Scheduled for Grading on Dec 2 Marked Graded on Dec 3! I know it will sit on Quality Control for a month but still. A non-fast track Economy order submitted the same day is still on "received." Marked Grading/Quality Control on Dec 5 Marked Shipped/Safe on Dec 10. That looks like 31 business days or so, which is perfectly acceptable for a non-Fast Track book. Unfortunately, I turned in an Economy order on the same day and it only just became Verified. This makes me wonder why I still have a Modern submission sitting in Grading/QC since 11/21. The way they process orders makes absolutely no sense.
  16. I'm trying to be patient... Called Monday on a 10/30 FT modern invoice, said it would ship on Monday Called Tuesday on the same invoice, said it would ship within 24 hours Waited. Waited. It's 35 minutes till Friday. Waiting. This definitely adds another level of frustration to the process. They clearly do not process invoices from the same tier on a first come first served basis.
  17. Modern pre-screen (non-FT) Received 12/2/13 Verified 12/4/13
  18. Modern (Non-FT) Grading/QC since 11/21 Anybody out there have books in this status for longer?
  19. Scheduled for Grading 11/13 Graded 11/14 Grading/QC 11/20 One invoice shipped 11/22. The other is still in grading/QC. Is it typical for pre-screen invoices received the same day to ship days apart?
  20. Scheduled for Grading 11/13 Graded 11/14 Grading/QC 11/20
