  1. I really need to find a higher grade on that 4 most. Living in So-Cal I surf and it's something pretty rare to see a surfing cover from a comic in the 1940's and by LB Cole to boot! Are these hard to find in grade before I start looking? The lower grades seem cheap and fairly easy to find...
  2. Here's some odds and ends I added to my swag yesterday. Some upgrades, one place holder. Thread warning: DO NOT gaze at the next two covers posted if you are looking for zombies or crime covers. Looking at funny animal covers after viewing pre code horror books may lead to damaged eyeballs. These types of books may also cause you to commit cartoon type violence.
  3. I never, ever expected to score a Menace #5 and Venus #19 within days of one another. Two Atlas books extremely high on my list to fill. In my opinion they are the two best Everett covers of the 1950's. Also odd when I set out to work on a run of Venus #9 thru 19 I was expecting to start with the lower issues and work my way up as the run gets more difficult at the end. Never thought I'd get the last three and the most difficult issues of the run first and within months of each other. Can't wait to get the #19 to pair up with my #17 and 18. Those 3 books belong together.
  4. Final auction wins this week. Both from comicconnect.
  5. Sprang did some interior art. I believe he drew "The a Goat of Gotham City" story inside. I've seen a high grade CGC copy before with George Roussos getting the cover credit on #108. I think George also did the Air Wave story inside.
  6. Just ordered today but when I receive them I'd be happy to...
  7. A few purchases made today while waiting for my bidding results at comicconnect.
  8. Forth auction win in Clink this week. Tough to find in grade.
  9. Third auction win from Clink. Very, very happy to win this one today...
  10. Second Clink auction win of the night... Quack....
  11. Not my favorite Everett cover either but not bad. The girl in the lower left hand corner kind of reminds me of Veronica from Archie.
  12. , yeah I wouldn't expect my 4.0 to be anything close to that. I was just curious if it's really that tough of a book or I just haven't been lucky at finding one in reasonably decent shape until now. I've been tracking it and Diary of a Horror for over a year now and other than the CGC 5.5 that I missed out on it seems nearly invisible in condition. The seller was asking $525.00 originally, dropped it to $400.00 and finally accepted $350.00 that I offered which I thought was fair based on the heritage auctions. Another pre-code book that Overstreet is far,far behind in pricing...
  13. Sorry I don't have a scan of it yet but I picked up a copy of City of the Living Dead NN 1952 Avon in CGC 4.0 for $350.00 off of Ebay. I watched copies go recently on Heritage for $137.00 in 3.5 (raw) and $650.00 for a CGC 5.5. I've had a tough time of finding a decent copy other than a few beaters that have shown up. Anyone having experience with this book? It's been a bit tough for me.
  14. Usually from my iPad which could be anywhere. Girlfriend hates it though when I enter bids in bed. Probably weirdest place is from my smart phone while surfing.
  15. I was unable to win a 5.0 copy in the recent clink auction so I opted To buy this copy off their site.
  16. Clink booty from tonight. Sadly I didn't win the main book I was bidding on.
  17. Plucked off clink today. Never owned one, always wanted one of the EC transition books and since I like mummies....
  18. Also upgraded this pretty quickly. Added this copy too. Always enjoyed this cover.
  19. Ordered from Metro today. Two new additions for my Frazetta run.... ...and one upgrade.
  20. After going through Bedrock City's inventory I was surprised to see the price of this book. I picked it up at auction about a year or so ago for well under 200 dollars. No one even seemed that interested in the book at the time. I wanted it for the Kamen art. It looks better than the dull crappy scan that I kept of it from the auction too. Still need a 1 and 3 though...
  21. A beautiful cover by Baker. I always see a bit of Jane Russell (among others) in many of his girls.
  22. Thanks so much! (thumbs u OK, I'm a little slow. Didn't notice before you are Bedrock city. Thank the Flintstones for me checking out your site. I talk to Fred and Wilma almost daily (thumbs u I guess that's ok as long as you don't hear them talk back...
