  1. Thanks. I have a Shocking Mystery #51 that I hope to upgrade one day too. Great LB Cole covers! One LB Cole I don't need a upgrade on is Guns Against Gangsters #8 which I have a CGC 8.0 or 8.5 (yikes! I don't remember which). If I find it I'll post a scan. I love that shark cover.
  2. Remembering the issue from years ago and a love of Cat woman (hey, she kinda looks like her) probably fed much of that impulse...
  3. Picked it up about a year ago. Still looking for a higher grade though....
  4. Were you aware it was incomplete when you purchased it or was it a "surprise"?
  5. Another fairly recent pick up of a cover I remember admiring as a kid. Not sure where I first saw this cover though. This was strictly a impulse buy after walking by Harley's booth this year in San Diego. Got me a Marvel Tales #104 to boot.
  6. I'll buy any cover by Everett in the 1950's Atlas period. Pure gold....
  7. Thanks. I guess I'll start looking around for a decent Detective Comics #122 as well soon.
  8. Sadly, this copy will probably not even rate a yawn with this thread and it's stellar books but I owned a copy before in much higher grade and have always wanted it back in the collection so I decided today I could live with this copy and plucked it off clink. I believe this is still my favourite Cat-woman cover after seeing it for the first time as a kid in the History of Comics first volume. Hey, at least I got a copy with white pages...
  9. Frazetta was in the Beware #10 which I'm still looking for a solid mid grade or better on myself. Either way, it's a beautiful Menace copy.
  10. Short series. 25 issues from 1969 to 1973. Reprints of some great material from Unexpected, Mystery in Space,Strange Adventures,etc.... See here for a listing of issues/contents: http://www.dcindexes.com/features/gallery.php?site=dc&seriesid=849 Had several redo's of original covers but some beautiful new covers too like this one: Sorry if I derailed the thread to much.
  11. New pick up. Got the reprint of it from the 1970's too as a companion piece.
  12. Three wins tonight from Comicconnect. St. John Caspers are still a little tough to get decent grades.
  13. That's a great cover. Very early Outer Limits like.
  14. I also grabbed this off of Ebay this morning. It was between this copy or Metropolis which had a mis-cut copy.
  15. Won 2 out of 3 tonight so I'm happy. Venus is her name...
  16. I'm crossing my fingers on a couple of more pre-code books tonight. If I get any of them I'll post later. Until then beware of geeks bearing gifts.... Always wished I could shop at some of those cool creepy shops comics had back in the day. You could go in and get all kinds of things to raise the dead, get a curse, meet a vampire or some kind of other kooky monster. You just don't find that kind of stuff today at Target or Walmart.
  17. Ugh. Don't even say that. The next Overstreet will be listing Jumbo #164 as having a Harry Osborn prototype.
  18. Arrgh! You're right. So sorry. Not sure how I missed that. I was probably thinking the whole short series was. My bad. Please accept this Matt Baker cover and jungle girl as gifts.
