  1. I just got this book back from CGC, purchased it raw from Straw-Man as an estimated 2.5 and that’s exactly what the grade is … Awesome book and I love this cover !
  2. Bought a sweet Daredevil #1 from Jeff and the transaction was flawless. The book was a low grade CGC 1.0 but actually a very well presenting book so I was really happy ! Shipping, packing and communication was top notch !!! Thanks a ton for the awesome deal ! (thumbs u
  3. Nice move Rupp ! (thumbs u I can understand boardies getting upset with Jim as they have good reason because I have dealt with Jim before and he did take quite some time to ship as well. With that being said, I did get the feeling while communicating over several weeks with Jim that he was a genuine guy and not out to rip me off, he was just a slow shipper. I’d still buy from Jim again knowing full well in advance that it may be two months before I get my books.
  4. (thumbs u Thanks guys. I bought my first Cap 100 NM back in the early 70's (73-74) for about $12 which was a ton of money for me back then. Cap 100 was also one of the several hundred books lost (house fire in '87) that I have always wanted to get back in the grade that I once owned 40 years ago as a kid
  5. Phil bought a Cap #154 CGC 9.4 from my last sales thread and he paid immediately. This was my second deal with Phil and it was flawless ! A great boardie to deal with (thumbs u Thanks very much !
  6. I picked up over 20 CGC books from Barton last week and can say they are all beauties , here are just a few ! Picked these two up from other dealers …
  7. I bought over 20 CGC books from Barton in his last sales thread … tons of sweet books and gorgeous high grade Cap’s to fill some holes in my run. Barton was just a phenomenal guy to deal with and is very reputable. He doesn’t need my kudos to convey just how highly respected he is on these boards as the veterans here know he’s one of the elite. Thanks a ton Barton … it was a pleasure dealing with you ! (thumbs u
  8. Express Service 7/23/14 - Received 7/24/14 - verified 8/06/14 - Grading/Quality Control (this status since last week)
  9. I agree ... the store is awesome !!! Although I travel to Houston frequently on business, I had never stopped by their shop on Westheimer but I was really impressed ... a class act for sure !!! I didn't get to meet Richard but really enjoyed chatting with Cmack ... first class guy. I'm going to try and stop in on a regular basis now. (thumbs u
  10. Picked up a few books this week … Stopped by and got this beauty from the great guys at Bedrock City, awesome store as well ! Some nice deals from the Straw-Man himself (thumbs u Got this one from a fellow boardie Jordan !
  11. Unless something is specifically worked out between buyer and seller BEFORE the buyer commits to buy the book, the buyer should immediately pay for the book or at least within 24 hours. It just seems like good business, we shouldn’t need rules to state this. A buyer committing to purchase books and then not paying while at the same time buying other books
  12. I bought two very nice books from Eric in his last sales thread. The Photo-Journal Guide to Marvel Comics by Gerber Both of these books combined have almost 8,000 color photos of Marvel Comics plus a lot of other great information. The entire transaction was flawless ... great books, communication and shipping. Highly recommended !!! Thanks Eric (thumbs u
  13. I often wonder that myself. Randy..its your book. You've paid for it and that's the end of the story. I really see no additional reason to continue the witch hunt. If others want to do more "digging" into an non-issue, then let them waste their time. Thanks Brock, I definitely understand that there were some questionable issues but it seems that one person in particular was overly obsessive and was posting links to the sales thread in the general discussion thread within 9 hours of the transaction when there was no information even known yet. This person did not know what was transpiring between PM yet felt it was imperative that he spend every waking hour stalking this book sale. As I’ve said before, it’s just a comic and I’m not going to fight over it. I also have a family that I spend time with so I’m not going to stalk this forum with my smart phone or computer. Regardless of all of this, I’ve communicated with the seller and can understand why he did not sell the book to Tuffy but as soon as the book is in my hands I will offer it up to Tuffy if he still wants it. This is my last post on this topic … Hopefully Harvey can now find another sandbox to go play in.
  14. Harvey … surely you have more in your life going on than these boards?
  15. Nice job on the artwork Kav (thumbs u
  16. A nice stack of books from Mark's last sales thread ... as always he's one of the best guys to deal with and a lot of fun as well ! Thanks a ton Mark ! (thumbs u
  17. An awesome movie for the greatest superhero ever created by man !!!
  18. As someone who only sells CGC'd books on his website I'd say you're hardly unbiased. Staus quo much? Not the status quo...just a realistic approach to an unrealistic expectation. The fact that people here expect perfection from an imperfect product is laughable. The only thing I agree w/in this entire thread is that CGC has a responsibility to handle the situation correctly...and that's on them and only them. Its not the responsibility of this community to determine what they should or shouldn't do..and casting stones before all the information is available is not only ignorant, but shows true colors by many. Take it for what you want...if a mistake was made, is it the end of the world? No...my power still comes on, my fridge still keeps my food cold and I still have a roof over my head.. Its shameful all these first world problems us comic collectors and dealer's have...
