  1. Indeed. I've been going to comic fairs and shops for 40+ years and in all that time it still hasn't occurred to most dealers to not overstuff their boxes and to not - and this is a pet hate - put them two deep on a table so you have to break your back reaching over to see what's in the one furthest from you. ....aaaaaaaaaaaaand this is why I still find great books hidden away, ripe for the picking...
  2. Having collected for over 40 years, I've already gotten the books I felt I NEEDED to get a long time ago. Now, I search out hidden books and deals at used book stores, thrift shops and comic cons. I'm looking for deals as well, things I could potentially resell ( I say potentially as I never seem to end up selling ). It's the hunt, the deal and using the knowledge amassed over the decades that's fun now.
  3. This part I agree with completely. It always makes a mess and it absolutely did with the MCU. The only exception I'd make is with Marvel Zombies. The way it was handled in UFF was pretty good, and I'd welcome them coming in from another dimension (and not necessarily another timeline).
  4. Possible to do a list of what's still available at the moment? Thanks (my bank account might not thank you )
  5. Yeah I have a bunch of raw books across all ages I want to move, and I'll be holding out unit after the holidays to send to MCS.
  6. Yep, I'd been reading UXM since 1982 and for me the title pretty much doesn't even exist for me after 175. So funny how that went.
  7. The SW 4 was actually left behind...it was maybe an 8.0 with all the spine ticks. And this has also been discussed here in that I as well bought these issues off the rack and I never saw any Tattooz either in these books.
  8. Okat, true to my word I watched it last weekend. Seriously, it was the best movie I've seen since the end of the MCU. Funny, not dumb and everyone in it was a blast to watch and seemed like they were having fun. Definitely worth the time!
  9. I'm glad people are passing up those books...I think the really high grade copies of the common books will rise in value well above the regular copies. Don't get me wrong, we're talking about a CPV being double the value and it still selling for $20-$30. What's fun is I'll have picked up the book for only $3...I'd make a good profit margin (even though selling a book would barely pat for a supper out ). I also get to give a clear mission to keep the girl busy at cons or when I visit a random LCS
  10. Here's a smattering of what I grabbed yesterday. After having taught my woman the history and rules of CPVs, I sent her into the bins to search out hidden treasures, and as usual she did not disappoint
  11. Il y a beaucoup de monde ici qui parle francais!
  12. I'm at a 5.0 because of the (seeming) staining on the back cover, BRC. Could absolutely go 5.5 though!
  13. Well, the Montreal minicon was a great CPV success! I was able to pick up 25 actual high grade random issues and a couple of keys. Pics tonight!
  14. Plus, this weekend is the Mini Montreal Comicon...planning to spend a couiple hours bin diving to see what I can pull out. Maybe I'll do a report here of interesting fnds!
  15. What??? They’re native here…I can’t show all the ones I find all the time!! ;)
  16. Totally disagree here! The Brood Saga was one of the best storylines overall in the X-Men and in the 80s overall! Funny as well that in all the X-'en discussion threads over the years, it's been unulateral that UXM jumped the shark with 176...it was never as good after that and most longtine readers say the same thing if asked the question.
  17. The show was an amazing blast, I suppose they'll go in that direction somewhat. Looking forward to it!
  18. With having all the books I really want, I'm toying with the idea of picking an arbitraty run or two to collect out of bins locally and cons, just for fun. A couple of good ideas here!
  19. Okay now I've been convinced to watch this. Aslo, the 80s D&D cartoom might be the greatest cartoon ever made and I still love it.
  20. You had 911 posts whenb you posted this!!
  21. Wondering how long it would take someone to post that @VintageComics sould I post the famout mic pic?
  22. I barely wanna have a drink with you! This is the last bar we ended up in, and that's Roy's dainty hand squeezing a lemon in the bottom left corner. Spot was called Le Darling, on St. Laurent boulevard here in montreal. St Laurent is the east/west dividing road that also traditionally seperated the English (west) and the French (east). This road has existed since tnhe establishment of Montreal and starts south at thje Old Port, so well over 350 years. And the traditional party and good time street as well
