Not shock for me, since I read the spoilers someone posted on this thread I gotta stop doing that! I just can't help myself.

Liking Shane even more after last night's episode, and even hating Dale that much more as well. Why would you even THINK of hiding the guns? Total bonehead move on Dale's part. He could have put everyone in the camp in danger just because he's pissy at Shane. His drama is becoming too much.

I think this episode did a good job of showing that the world has changed (although we knew that). The old ways of thinking no longer apply, and it's time to adapt to the current enviroment. Shane, Andrea, Daryl, and T-Dog all have for sure.

Rick was on the fence I think. But after putting down Sophie, he proved he can make the hard choices and be a leader in the current situation. Now Herschel and Dale need to evolve. Or die.

I really hope the show doesn't follow the comic (I don't read the series) and I hope it continues to forge its own path. It will keep us ALL guessing, and not knowing what is going to happen next. Just use the comic book more or less as a guideline I say.

My money is still on Shane dying this season...

Which would be a BIG mistake IMO. And I'm not only saying that because he's my favorite. I just thing he adds another element to the show, instead of the other cookie-cutter characterizations.

There are just so many different angles you could do. Have him go full on "villian" if you want; have the group fracture and some go with Rick, some with Shane, etc.

Love him or hate him, you have to admit Shane is a good character. It would be a waste to kill him just because the majority of the viewers dislike him and his actions.

Rick now knows that Lori is preggo

 

Which leaves me wondering what it was that Dr. Jenner told Rick as they left the CDC. I had originally thought it was about Lori's pregnancy.

Me too! I was sure that it was about Lori being preggo. Now I hope it was something else....something they don't forget to address (if that was it or not).

Episode 7

 

“Pretty Much Dead Already”

 

Episode opens with Glenn revealing the presence of the walkers to the rest of the group, who promptly proceed to freak out. Maggie becomes angry with Glenn for not keeping the secret and ruins his hat in retribution. Dale gives Glenn his trademark bucket hat as a replacement. Maggie later makes a plea to Hershel for the group to stay. She and Glenn also have an argument about the walkers, after which they eventually admit their feelings, kiss and make up.

 

Rick and Hershel argue, with Hershel demanding the group leave within a week. Rick uses the my-wife-is-pregnant card, but Hershel’s not persuaded. Shane also wants the group to get the hell out of there because of the walkers in the barn, but Rick uses the same excuse to cool him down. However, Shane then becomes convinced that Lori’s baby is his.

 

Dale takes off with Shane’s guns to hide them in the swamp. Shane tracks him down and demands he give the guns back. Dale points his rifle at him and threatens to shoot. However, he backs down at the last moment, since he has no wish to become like Shane: he reveals that he knows Shane shot Otis and lied about what really happened. Shane heads back to the farm with the guns.

 

Hershel has Rick help him and Jimmy try to fish some walkers out of a nearby pit of quicksand and lead them into the barn with snare poles. He says the group can stay on the farm if they agree not to kill the walkers. They arrive at the farm about the same time Shane emerges from the swamp and hands out guns to other members of the group…

 

Shane sees the snared walkers and goes berserk. He yells at Rick and Hershel as they guide the walkers towards the barn, with the rest of the group and people in the farm looking on. He pulls his sidearm and unloads it in the chest of one of the walkers, demanding to know “Could someone who’s alive just take that? Why is it still coming?” Hershel has no answer.

 

He finishes off the walker with a headshot, grabs a nearby *****xe and breaks open the barn door. Walkers pour out, T-Dog, Daryl, Shane, Glenn, and Andrea form a line and open fire. Once the dust clears, one more walker emerges. Sophia. Rick finally steps up next to the others, pulls his six-shooter and kills Sophia with a shot to the head. End episode.

 

 

 

 

 

WOW. Thanks for posting that. I can't help myself with spoilers. That sounds like quite the episode!

I am loving the show. For me, it's moving along at a pretty good pace. Yes at times it seems slow, but I love the character development. And last nights episode was good because it tied up a lot of loose ends I think. Glen spilled his guts, Rick now knows that Lori is preggo AND was with Shane. Really they could have dragged this out longer but I'm glad they didn't.

Really digging Shane's character (he's my fav). Dale....not so much. He needs to keep his opinions to himself! Always up in everyone's business!

Give TV Andrea time. She wasn't a badass at this point in the comic either.

 

I love Andrea in the comic but she didn't toughen up (in the comic) and become a force to be reckoned with until after her experience in the prison when she was attacked and cut up.

 

Her survival of that event was her major turning point, when she became a strong character.

 

I don't need her to be a badass right now. I just need her to not be nauseating.

 

Exactly, she is great in the books, but in the show... Even in the beginning of TWD series she wasn't such an annoying, ungrateful, idiotic, complaining wench. I can't stand her on the show, if I heard I want my gun one more time, I would have taken a gun to myself.

Yeah this is funny. My gf and I are watching the show last night, and near the beginning or so she says (about Andrea): "I really don't like her". And I'm like: "Nah, she's ok". Then she shoots Daryl and I'm like: "I HATE THAT B_____!!"

Doesn't really give away anything and I'm watching it right now.

 

I am thinking Darryl and Shane could carry this show by themselves. Feed the rest of them to the zombies.

I agree 100%. These are my two favorites. Great character development for these two.

I am hoping to get some help on this one as I have never seen it and could not fin any info on the internet. It appears to be a invitation box set given to members of the academy for screening of movies for the Oscars. There are more pics I just didn't want to overwhelm this thread with them. Does anyone know anything about this? there is a calendar of screening on the lot. and if you read the last part the other movies will be sent after their theatrical release a month later. Just another item I picked up at Goodwill to finance my comic hobby.

 

That's pretty interesting. Although Shawshank Redemption should have beat out Forrest Gump for Best Picture that year

Not most peoples cup of tea i know but i cant even tell you how psyched i am to get this book in hand. I dont have it yet but since its paid for, i hope Michael doesnt mind me posting it.

 

Not a valuable book for sure and probably in the top 10 of my least valuable slabs in terms of $'s but DEFINITELY in my top 10 in terms of . When i was a kid, Avengers was my favorite run and i would go to the grocery and pick out the nicest copy and my dad would buy it for me. Yellowjacket was my 2nd favorite character and i would say i almost cried when i read this and they kicked him out of the Avengers but who am i kidding? I cried like a little girl!
