  1. Worked out a deal with Jason on a couple slabs and he was fair, friendly, and extremely quick to pay. He was a pleasure to deal with and I would do so again in a heartbeat!
  2. Thanks to LoneTree for the FF2, I have now completed my FF SS want list!
  3. Bought a high dollar slab from Bryan and it came quick and extremely well packed. He was a pleasure to deal with and I am happy to highly recommend him!
  4. case closed toyman does not go on the pl but has suffered the public humiliation of having their integrity questioned wtf. BS he doesnt. How is that any kind of warning to the community?? what am I missing? are any of the following statements incorrect? 1. the seller did not wait the full 30 days for payment before relisting 2. the seller informed the prospective buyer that he would prefer to relist as opposed to waiting 3. the book is now sold so no true remedy is available I hear you on this one. Had I realized I needed to wait 30 days, I would have gladly waited another two. It was merely an oversight, but the way our justice system works that would be enough to have the case thrown out. I contend we do not have to mirror our justice system though.
  5. Okay, re-listed and sold so in the end I sold the book, only it was a month after it originally sold. I am for the time-out list.
  6. At this point I do not want to wait any longer for the buyer so I don't want to wait for another check to be sent (if the first one ever was) and I don't want to wait for the alleged paypal dilemma to be resolved. My last sale thread closed last night and I plan to re-list today. Speedy, you are right that she needs a way to get off the list but it seems obvious that she is unable to complete any purchases right now, so has there ever been a timed probation? Maybe she is put on it for a couple of weeks and then removed when she can prove the paypal situation is resolved? I don't know. Just ideas.
  7. It does seem like this is the first time they have attempted to purchase something online... or perhaps I am just naive. Now they say their new account has a negative balance. I don't think it matters. They made a transaction and then failed to follow through on it. So, I recommend toyman be put on the probation list for not making payment on a buy in a reasonable amount of time. If I need to post this somewhere else, please let me know. Thankfully this is the first time I have had to do this.
  8. I heard back from the buyer and was given more excuses as to why they couldn't pay but was told I can re-list the book. Frustrated about the whole thing but am unsure if this is probation territory any longer since there is really no way for them to make it right if I re-list. I assume I should just move on at this point?
  9. Do I need to tell them I am recommending them for probation first or just post their name here and be done with it?
  10. I am not sure whether to suggest someone for the probation list or not and I would be very appreciative for some assistance in this matter. About a month ago, someone posted a in my sales thread and at thread close, I sent a PM thanking them and giving Paypal information for the books they wanted. Their total was only $23 but still my assumption is that the amount doesn't matter with non-payment. After five days of no response and having seen they read it after the first day, I PM'd again giving them the option of backing out if they were no longer interested stating that I wanted to sell the book. The buyer responded that they were new to Paypal and asked if they could send a check. No problem. I gave the address and they stated they would send it out the next day. Fast forward ten days and still no check. I PM asking about it. Fast forward another six days and I get a response that they were on vacation and it was sent. So after saying they checked and it wasn't cashed they offer to pay with their new paypal account. I give my payment information and a week later no payment and no communication from the buyer. I send one last PM stating I want to re-list the book and the buyer has not read the message or been on the boards since. Is this probation worthy? Is the amount too low or the time frame too short? I really want to just re-list the book at this point and move on but without their go ahead to do so I am not sure if I can by rule. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  11. A Song of Ice and Fire: A Feast For Crows (Game of Thrones book 4 for those that aren't in the know) Since I finished watching the end of season 2 a month ago, I have been devouring this series. It is so good. I couldn't wait for season three next March so I started reading... and reading... and reading... My comics pile is getting bigger and bigger but I can't stop!!!!
  12. Marvel Star Wars full run and lots of full Dark Horse runs in Misc.
  13. Marvel Star Wars full run and lots of full Dark Horse runs in Misc.
  14. Did a trade/cash deal with Adrian for a high dollar book. His packing was top notch, communication was solid, and I am very pleased with the book. Highly recommend him!
  15. Well Spawn had a fairly original concept and the series tackles some interesting topics. The writing has varied from to good but I wouldn't go as far as call it fluff. Some of the characters are pretty lame, but the writing and story line since issue 185 has been very good (in my opinion). As far as comparisons go, Spawn did make a splash when it came out because Image was new and MacFarlane was more popular. It's popularity waned over time and I expect the same will happen with Walking Dead. For the record, I like both titles a lot.
  16. Thought I was already a member. Oh well, here I am!
  17. The aspirations of Dr. Doom have always intrigued me. None so more than stealing the Beyonder's power in Secret Wars. The cover that depicts that best is Mike Zeck's Secret Wars 10 cover. It shows his unyielding resolve in almost certain defeat. Love this cover and would love to own it. Anyone know who owns it and if it is for sale?
  18. The TOS came out as a 4.0 and is what I expected but was really hoping for the 4.5. There is something nice about having matching grades. There is a small circular stain toward the lower part of the cover that you cannot really see that most definitely affected the grade. The TTA was a bit more of a surprise. I really thought it would get the 5.0. It has a production crease and suffers from some slight Marvel chipping so that might have been it. I could pay to get graders notes, but I just don't care enough. They are about where I expected them to be.
  19. I know you would and if hard times ever hit, you would be first one I would go to but those two are probably the last two I would let go! They are just too cool. One of these days I hope to add Strange Tales 1 and Journey 1 to the mix.
  20. Thought I would post a group of some of my #1's Edit: It just dawned on me this is the Silver Comics forum and I have a copper and two bronze in there. I can re-take the pics if anyone thinks I should.
  21. Sending in one of these myself pretty soon with an interior Steranko sig. Love that cover!
  22. No love in Comics General. Someone has to appreciate mid-grade besides me! Just got these three back from CGC. Super happy with this lot! Great page quality too!
