  1. Nice to see the Taboo love. I only have issues #1&2.
  2. After Hours is one that comes to mind. I know the last issue was a prototype for Famous Monsters but the first three issues are mainly 50's girlie magazines. Couple that with Playboy and I get the impression it's ok to submit some of my cheesecake mags, many more popular than After Hours. Would love to submit some of my Bettie Page and M. Monroe covers.
  3. Awesome room. Your Comic room reminds me of a Magazine/Cigar shop I used to frequent.
  4. Oh man. I remember playing with that as a kid. Use to put Spidey on the car windows while mom was driving. Good times.
  5. Nice thread! This line is insanely popular and forget about picking them up cheaply on eBay. This title and Die-Hard Gamefan are always on my radar. BTW, Thats the best looking copy of #1 I've ever seen.
  6. 1980 Conan Cover Ist Starlog Empire Cover Ist Superman Cover Ist StarlogStar Wars cover
  7. Makmorn, your copy is the one that inspired me to hunt the title down. Great mag you have there!
  8. We should start a Creepy #1 club. Here's mine I picked up last year for $5. Not the greatest copy but I couldn't beat the price.
  9. Wow! You're on a roll and I'm with you, love me some comics but I think I like the mags a tad more.
  10. Yeah......that would be sweet with the Avengers heads to the side. Would love to see Shiverbones take on that!
  11. I kicked around the idea of a Thanos cover (Warlock #10) but at the time it didn't seem like the right mood for a Halloween theme. What was I thinking.
  12. Awesome Wrightson books and that NL is a head turner.
  13. Same feelings here. Gotta jump in before it blows up.
  14. That was almost 4 years ago. Put that up for auction today and I'm sure it's at least a $400 dollar book. (at least thats what I would be hoping to snipe it for) Still not as much as that #9 you mentioned being sold back in the day.
  15. In 2008, this sold for $125!?!?
  16. They have been rising though. Last year I contemplated getting into them and decided to throw my money into something else. Last year #1 was fetching somewhere between $20-$30 for very fine + copies. Try getting that price now. Its nearing $50+.
  17. The number 1 is a keeper but the rest are just readers. Love that ad on the back cover of #20. Only $44.95 for a piece for those tapes.
  18. Welcome to the convo Black Lantern. I hate to sound like a broken record but give HorrorHound a try. They have genuine love for all the 80's flick and fandom. Their retrospecs are the best and its a very professional publication. It's a fanzine taken to the next level.
  19. Wow. That is mighty kind of you. I tell you what, you send me that and I'll send you the HorrorHound below. This was the one that got me started into looking into all those horrible boxes of VHS tapes at all the Flea Markets and garage sales. Great article on the Media Home Entertainment line of tapes. If you have this one, I'll send a different one.
  20. I'm in the market for a #9. LMK if you wanna let go of one. Doesn't matter the condition as long as it's not coverless. BTW, HorrorHound hooked me when they started doing their reviews of the 80's video tapes complete with photos of all the VHS boxes. They would do one line an issue/article, ya know, they would review the run of Gorgon Video releases, then next issue Canon, and so on and so on. Included in the articles would be ads and giveaways the companies would give out to promote their videos. Pics of magnets, keychains, shirts, posters/standees and other things were pretty cool. Very thorough and informative.
  21. I just couldn't get into Rue Morgue but HorrorHound is a great read. Just like Fango, their house ads have created alot of buzz for their back issues.
  22. Phantasmagoria #1? Would be awesome if it exists. Congrats on that Deep Red run. Fango lovers really need to check that title out. I have a #1 and #4 but lost a few others to my grandmother. Fun times. Yeah, like I mentioned earlier in this thread, I'm too putting together a run but of only covers of movies I liked and no issues from the 90's. The Evil Dead covers that Matt bought are on my list. When you get them post a pic, please! Keep this great thread going. The Magazine forum needs the love. What's really interesting is that the "Bloody Best" and poster editions have really started to climb in price on eBay. I've lost on both in multiple auctions.
