  1. amazing what has been sold over the years....quality.......where is and who owns it???
  2. A great idea and one of the two top posts of the year in my opinion. The prices speak for themselves, and the great material is just flat out amazing, but remember in the early days very few dealers were there is a lot of great comic art, especially in the early 70's. Russ is and was a trend setter, who had the "best art eye" in the business. His books are always great and top quality. I just wish Bruce Hamiliton was still around to see his partner still selling great stuff....in 2012
  3. Gary sold most of his ec collection to to theo and I years later...TTA1 has always been hard to get...great books....he said " you had to be there each week they came off the stands....sf comic book company rocks....
  4. You should report this guy to interpol ASAP and F--K this guy.
  5. I think if he cannot be responsible for the work that was paid for while at the same time getting new work is a real problem for the new buyers who may be unaware of the situation, if you look at the link on his website it says approx 90 days with no refunds and no firm date, I guess they forgot to say up to 2 years. Trying is talking....doing is called the right thing....so is his website FAIR to buyers whom are getting NEW commissons...you make the call, but it is Fair game to comment.
  6. Billy wright has some issues going to auction tonight.....what in your opinion is the rarest of the lot?
  7. I totally agree, see my journey of a comic book collector special edition, and I am getting vol 2, great cover art of dale.
  8. Quite frankly, this is shocking if this is true, however in any auction you as the seller can buy the item back if you pay the buyers/ auction house fee.
  9. Just info, Theo and David Copperfield have the two best co-op collections in the world for rarest of the rare machines. David's collection is bigger and probably better but each has machines the other wants and have been friendly over the years. Both have been collectors for a very long time. Theo started over 30 years ago when co-op was cheap. Both have probably made millions by beating the crowd, getting them cheap. Still they have been known to drop 100K up at heartbeat for a good piece. It is a different kind of world, and different breed of collector. I have been luckly to visit a number of collectors houses with theo, and have seen some great pieces over the years. I do not collect nor own any currently. If David offers two, then it is worth 5 million, if theo offers 3 then its worth 7-10, these guys are the two sharpest guys in the biz.
  10. I was more impressed with action 10,13,19, and 20 in person. The 4.5 grade is right on and with the stock market crash today this might be the time to get the book at a steal. Clearly it is worth 500k in normal conditions, today is not normal
  11. Look on comic link the book sold for 121k you are right gator he sold that thru cc auction and he sold the one on comic link the 5.0 also neither are his collection books
  12. Theo sold superman thru comic link after buying it for spec thru ha and made a tidy profit on that one it is not a collection copy of his due to the low grade of 5.0
  13. AF 15 is the second right now at 1.1 million, and rightfully so, a 9.8 copy and I bet there are probably 1 or 2 out there would hit 1.5 easy. Marvel #1 is a great book but not on the level of Cap 1. Years ago 2 years age diff made a big deal to GA collectors as time goes on the difference of a couple years will fade....Cap one is a better book than marvel 1, and the 9.2 is very very undervalued at this time.
  14. Lou Fine Talked to John about which is better cap or marvel, I can only speak for myself, but I do not consider the marvel 1 in ungraded 9.8 a turd by any means. I do not have permission from john to write what he told me, but I will say this, if I had a chance to own 9.8 cap one and 9.8 marvel.....in a new york second I would take cap. 9.2 cap price coming up it will be interesting to see if that is more desirable than marvel 1. I have seen the book in person, I grade it 9.2-9.4 easy, if there is such a grade 9.2+, and it is a very very valuable book. Time will tell LF
  15. If you recall my prediction of the top books in 2020, I put cap #1 on top of Marvel#1. Looks like it will come true way before. Cap#1 in 9.2 is worth 1 million dollars in my opinion in today's market if not more. I have seen the copy at SDCC, the best book in the whole convention and the best book I have seen in years at the SDCC. Graded very very accurate. People were taking about 250K for the sales price, I think higher and a lot higher and if not somebody is going to get the best deal in comic fandom in a number of years. The movie is great and will probably increase the value sooner, but it was destiny that this book become the "king" of all GA marvels, in fact I discussed this very issue with John, the owner of the 9.6 and his purchase price of 265K, then a record price at SDCC last weeK If you have the juice....go for cap 1 9.2 you will never regret it.
