  1. I went through the Gator centaur a day thread and found that he made a lot of good comments on several other issues also...its public and it is obtainable, but I also respect Gator and his knowledge as to been there and done that...and there are a lot of great books, if I come away with one quality book that would just great.
  2. thanks for the information is there a approximate date when these will be auctioned, I believe one auction is the way to go to spread the collection among the greatest amount of true comic book collectors, I will look for the little giant 4, AM22, and the Amf promo and thanks for the heads up on those
  3. I wish you all the best, what would you consider to be the rarest items in terms of duplicating finding another copy, not based upon value ? Is the collection going to be sold at one time or over several auctions?
  4. Is that your complete Centuar collection?
  5. According to Mycomicshop newsletter, they purchased 600,000 issues over a 3 month period and are buying 50K per month, and going to buy a 250K collection in Jan....I think they are going to challenge chuck here as American's largest comic book store...and quality wise too....chuck will be forced to bring down his mile high prices
  6. not good for long term GA collectors the ability to game the system
  7. What is considered the "Action 1" of video games and what is the highest price paid on record for a video game?...Ha mentioned it could be 100K???
  8. I agree on that one, they are really cool, and it brings me back to the time I bought them, cover art is just that...comic book, magazine, video game...its fair game to grade and sell and this major acknowledgement by the biggest auction house in the world is a major, major positive step for that market.
  9. this type of dangerous manipulation of market forces seems can really do long term damage to the GA market...its a shame.
  10. super thanks, lets not forget its the book we collect
  11. If you spend 380K on a 2.5 why not spend 500K and get a better copy looks like the buyer wants to trade up now
  12. In the winter 2018 intelligent collector magazine which Heritage publishes for its bidders page 38, there appears to be a new grading service Wata Games which grades them on a 10 point basis and puts them in a plastic protective case. The article goes on to say the prices go to up to $100,000.00 on Sonic, Zelda, and Super Mario Bros with factory sealed games bringing the most premium. Check out you storage areas or call mom.....these cases look really cool and it will be interesting to track them at those auctions as our comic book collector field gets more and more expanded. There is a photo of a 9.4 graded super Mario very similar to CGC type of label.
  13. the best way to avoid shilling is to avoid overbidding, 100% agree, there just seems something not right here on this book
  14. I would second that and conduct you own auctions thru your own website , rather than spread your collection around to HA and CC and CL depending on who you think would be the best for that particular book. Unless Ha give you a separate catalog and a heck of a consigning deal that is...why give up 10/20% if you can communicate with the real buyers of your material or sell at retail in a convention setting. Maybe its time for a total reboot...Cat says Texas, I say San Diego...today 65 degrees, perfect weather...amazing
  15. when times are tough, the tough get tougher...wishing all the best and hoping that new business opportunity turns out to be a "gold rush" for you.
  16. I will second that, always had a soft spot in my heart
  17. Agreed, but its probably the date of this thing....
  18. maybe next year they set in on a better date as this attendance I heard was not stellar...maybe for affordability that how they were able to get it going...best luck and hope these "pop UP" shows getter better and bigger
