There's no such thing as drek anymore. So many formerly junk books have become hot due to movie or tv announcements that you just might regret dumping them.

Yeah! Good deal! I really like Mike Grell's work. Love Jon Sable and Warlord! AWESOME Omnibus you have!
Yes. Always thought that Warlord was underrated. Got Mike Grell to sign my Longbow hunters TP a few years ago. Quite a character from what I remember.

It's kind of weird but one of the most familiar faces from my childhood is the LaSalle 'Look who's smiling now' guy from the back cover of a million comic books. (I'm talking about the mid 70's guy - I know there was an earlier one). I wonder whatever happened to him?

The terms; 'Good Girl Art' & 'Bad Girl Art' probably wouldn't pass the woke test either currently.

Alex Ross’s Facebook page. I love most of his stuff. Not his Superman but most everything else. He lives in Chicago and does some meet and greets here from time to time as well at LCS ‘s.
The Batman & Robin image is actually from one of his sketchbooks from a few years ago. It was the front cover.

He didn’t do that much at DC.
His version of Hawkman is classic level, though. Quite brilliant.
That's true. I'd forgotten Hawkman.

To incite still further, was Robbins really so bad when you compare him to a certain ‘creator’ mentioned in the all-time best list; the infinitely overrated Bob Kane?
I actually like Frank Robbins on Invaders. He brought a nieve golden age feel to what was after all an homage to golden age books.

Some artists are suited more to one genre than another. The example that springs to mind is Joe Kubert. On war or jungle books he is a master. On super-hero books he would be in my don't like list.

I recently bought a large collection which included all of the Harris Cyberfrog books. I wasn't very familiar with these and threw them up on Ebay not expecting very much. Wow! there was a feeding frenzy and they went for very good money. I need to educate myself on 90's indies that's for sure.

I'll take some pictures at the next one Paul. It's still the only comic gig in town worth attending. Mostly the same old sellers with the same old stuff but occasionally, a newbie, and for a brief second, excitement. CGC were there in the corner of the 'add on' room last time, which rarely opens. And there's a lot of those Funko things there now too. If it wasn't for one quarter of the Beatles turning up each time, I'd probably knock it on the head.
Who am I kidding.... I'll likely be the last one out when it finally folds.
It's nearer to 1 1/2 Beatles, as in addition to Paul McCartney, (Peter) Lennon is also often there. And it is not unusual to also see the actual Mick Jones from The Clash & Big Audio Dynamite shuffling around the place as well.

Did Stan Lee show respect to Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko? I like Stan but I think he was a credit hog.... She needs to get over it if it's true.
Stan Lee gave lots of respect to Kirby & Ditko, even going so far as to write an open letter crediting Ditko with co-creating Spidey.

She should shut her big yap or people might start looking more closely at her role in Stan's sad decline.

Silver age comics suck to sell, copper age is the best . Listen to your heart you'll never go wrong.
But, should these be Captain America comics? I like Captain America comics. Which Captain America comics should I collect? Oakman, do you collect Captain America comics?

Paul Cornell has bought from me on ebay from time to time. I've comped Dan Slott some Spidey books in the past, but the coolest would be the late George A. Romero buying a stack of Empire of the Dead #1's from me at a con. I gave him a good deal in return for a couple of signed copies. He and his wife were very pleasant and great to deal with.

Such great books. The paperback versions always had terrible bindings which fell apart though.

Firstly, i'm very sorry for your loss. As to your original question; this post is very good advice and exactly what I would do in your circumstances.
