  1. I believe the Boards are a large source of my lack of productivity. Moderation has not been much of a factor in this problem. I also believe that the Boards could be Heaven on Earth with proper medication.
  2. It will go poof and not locked. I wager a few boardies will go poof for a month in the process. I second this... Poof No Lock My vote is neither.
  3. Go on. Enunciate thy threadous loximus. Oh, I don't get them locked. I just loiter around until somebody has a meltdown. What fun can be had at the expense of others emotional foibles. Usually, the wait isn't long.
  4. where does one find 'wrist slap' posts? They post them here. They're just pulling your leg. You find them here.
  5. I've seen better work under refrigerator magnets from fingerpainting toddlers.
  6. My eyes have been violated by a bad artist.
  7. Are we expecting moderators to read every single post on these boards? Absolutely not. Did I imply that? I don't think I did. I certainly wasn't thinking it. No - it was just a question in general but I thought it might be appropriate to what you originally posted. What I was certainly implying was that people hump the mommy button far too often, and I'm curious as to what the primary reason is since things are largely civil around here--at least compared to plenty of other forums I'm familiar with. I've seen forums that are more civil and as RMA suggests, it's due to a higher moderator presence where regular contributors act as moderators. I think I've notified about a half-dozen times for two reasons--bot spammers and outright threats such as that one Mark sent Jason's way. I may have never actually notified due to threats since they're rare, but I have on other forums. I'd probably hump over very repetitive trolling, but I can't remember ever seeing it.
  8. I'm disappointed the Cabal memes haven't surfaced yet. I'm planning to read the Kabbalah in the barn. Golddust in the barn with the Kabbalah. Sounds like Clue.
  9. Some pruning going on in here. To all the keyboard tough-guys, threats are never a good idea.
  10. Agree - especially with the tribal attribute references. Didn't like the hair dicing. Not one bit. One does not dice hair, one splits it. Also splitting hairs to the nth degree, all the way down to unraveling the double helix, is a much better analogy to his "new species" reference. A missed opportunity. But I digress to splitting hairs on dicing hairs.
  11. Yeah, posting a lot here is wrong. No, just posting a lot in this thread. Do keep up. You mentioned their post counts.... Swift mentioned eating babies. Brilliant analogy. A modest proposal.
  12. I don't think my issues were about injustice at all. I believe moderators shouldn't be seen, nor heard - and when required to act, to look at things in context. After all, if moderating comments that violate the rules is purely random - as the speeding example implies - then why have moderators at all? You could simply put a monkey in an office chair and have it issue strikes without doing any due diligence or citing why those strikes were given. Or develop a software algorithm that strikes people randomly based on naughty keywords or percentages of flesh-colored pixels in attached files. Sarcasm + disdain + reductio ad absurdum = awesome sauce
  13. Eat me, Mighty Mouse. Now it would be solely for a strike. Before it was this and this rolled into one. A real man would start a thread about it, get a strike and lose 5 points simultaneously, go out drinking with the boys to celebrate, and tell his wife to keep his dinner warm for him. No. A real man would tell Arch, in his own thread, that his brand new custom title isn't up to par and that his duck story sucks and then go out with the boys. The wife would already know to keep dinner warm. lol I almost choked to death on my coffee.
