  1. I'll start. Iron Man #212? Oh wait...you said any appearance...I guess that would be the flashback in Iron Man #169? Worst game-master EVAH!
  2. That sheep looks very tyred. It would have been way funnier if it was a pig.
  3. Oh yeah! I didn't notice that. Silent protest?

  5. The DFJ has great powers...and of course...great responsibilities.
  6. Damn Jimmers. And that's a Kirby-drawn Spidey right there.
  7. The Daily Comic Book Panel Thread Here's today's panel. Identify the issue if you can. I'll be opening new panels and giving clues if no one gets it.
  8. This. FOMO (i.e., more people than ever demanding keys and semi-keys and classic covers now) ... and hoarding (post-1960 books are not scarce, and post-1965 books are not scarce at all ... but many are HTF in grade in the current market). How often do we see on Instagram pix of multiple copies of 48s, 181s, 300s ... Not very often, but I ran across one today...
  9. You nearly changed history. The power of a link. And the funny thing is...if they HAD been the same book, I could see myself making the IDENTICAL post, only dripping with snark instead of enthusiasm.
  10. No. They are 2 different books. The top staple location is one sign. Ditch just posted another 5.0 sale from 8 years ago. I'll modify my post to make this more clear. I should have been more specific.
  11. No, but I can see how you might have interpreted my post that way.
  12. Hi @Architecht I posted my displeasure regarding the New Journal Migration HERE. There's probably no sense in repeating myself in this thread. As soon as Scott got done with my new journal, there were 8 views on it. Now, after over 24 hours have gone by, there are a total of 2 new views (probably mine) for a total of 10 views. I recently kept track of my old journal views because I wanted to make sure it was worth my time. Here's the data: 8/6 - 165 8/7 - 220 8/8 - 176 8/9 - 185 8/10 through 8/11 - 273 8/12 - 130 Clearly, the new journals lack visibility. This is just my opinion, but at 2 views or 10 views per day, it's just not worth my time to contribute. Why have a journal if no one (or very, very few) will see it? Question: Would you consider unlocking the Old Journal forum and allow those of us who prefer it to continue to contribute there?
  13. Wow! Congrats. That was a $50K book 8 years ago (Cream to OW). Link We'll be watching. ------------------------------------ EDIT: This post has caused some confusion, and it's my fault for not being more specific and clear. These are two different books. By "That," I meant a PEP22 CGC 5.0. Sorry.
  14. If a buyer can and will return a slab for tiny scuff marks, you can expect returns on slabs with newton rings. And if a slab can be returned for newton rings, with the seller eating the cost of shipping both ways, or offering partial refunds, sellers will try to protect themselves by disclosing them as we see here: Buy/Sell Comics (Public Facebook Group)
  15. Jackpot Comics #4 Cover Date: Winter 1941 (actual = ???, Some sources say 12/41, some 2/42) Features: Archie, Jughead & Betty 8 Page Comic Story First Archie cover appearance First appearance Mrs. Grundy CGC label states: Archie begins Last panels says "Archie appears every month in....PEP Comics. Highest Recorded Sale (8.5): $22,705.00 PEP Comics #22 Cover Date: December 1941 Features: Archie, Jughead & Betty 6 Page Comic Story Archie referred to as 'Chick' No cover appearance CGC label states: First appearance of Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper and Jughead Last panel advertises for the next issue of PEP Comics Highest Recorded Sale (8.0): $252,100.00 Confusing. But I'm sure there's an Archie expert out there who could shed more light on this. Why isn't JC4 listed as the 2nd or 3rd appearance of Archie? I don't know. JC4 PEP22
