  1. That was when I was stressed out trying to complete my Planet Comics run....haha. I am pretty relaxed and lovable now that I only have my Rivets to concern myself with
  2. Yeah, I guess I will have to wait until the day of the auction. I'll be out of the country on vacation at that time, so hopefully a wifi connection will be sufficient for the task
  3. Well, over the last few days many of the CC Planet books have not been moving, so I decide to throw in a bid or two. Within a few hours of my bid, I am outbid. So I move on to a couple of other books, same thing, within a few hours, out bid again I try again with a couple of new books and a couple of the others I bid on previously, same thing, all outbid within a few hours again the same scenario. A single buyer chasing all these, something funny going on or just chance?
  4. Congratulations on completion of the run, an amazing accomplishment!!
  5. Holy smoke! I was just checking out the Planet #1 on the Comic Connect auction, up to 57K already!!!
  6. I forgot they sell books directly too. Hard to compete on price with a business in the billions of dollars
  7. Bit of a long shot, but for all anyone knows, the comic shop could also be selling that very same book through Amazon or some other venue as well. The market space is very tough these days and business owners need to hustle to create cash flow from multiple sources if they are going to stay liquid and in business.
  8. This is occurring in many areas. With liberal printing/creation of money and immense amounts of money being made at the top end of holders of wealth there is crazy amounts of funds being funneled in to certain collectables and investments. Google contemporary post war art sale prices and you will see the same thing happening. I read an article that about 50% of the total $$ Sales are for only a small list of about 25 artists, with the remainder being split among 10,000s of artists. Although this causes an upsurge of prices for lesser items, the stratospheric prices are contained to a small grouping of items. Same thing is happening with vintage sports cards, contemporary art , comics and many other items.
  9. So what’s everybody’s guess on the #15 Church, 30k+. Is that possible?
  10. Holy , I so want one of these books. I don't know if I'll have the juice when the time comes though, I have a feeling these are going to be insane price wise.
  11. Lol, I ditched that place a long time ago now
  12. I remember I purchased my #14 and #15 from two separate auctions only about a week apart, that was financially painful. Once I got those two issues down, I knew it was only a matter of time before I completed the entire run. I always figured I would one day, but after those two buys, I knew it would happen.
  13. I would agree with Rick. Having completed the run in full (although I have now sold off all my non Rivets), I regretted not spending some bigger dollars on the tougher books (mostly rivets) as prices have steadily risen on this title during my period of active buying, particularly for nice covers. I believe Rick's statement is true, but I would focus my funds on Rivets primarily if you can be that patient, you will likely be further ahead in the long run as most of the upper numbers of the runs are fairly easy to locate with the exception of a few issues. My $0.02 Warmest Regards Jason
  14. Very exciting news with the MH Planets coming to auction, it’s been a long time coming. I may take a run at upgrading one or two of my rivets if the pocket book allows. As someone else already said, it will probably be a bloodbath ?
  15. Had the pleasure of owning a couple of these. Hope that the #37 does exceptionally well for you at HA @Ricksneatstuff
  16. Lol, I had not idea what this thread was about until I took a look through the other forum sections Very annoying, maybe they got their start selling Lancashire Kitchens??
  17. No worries, I did bid on that book, but it went way too high for my budget at the time. As I recall it sold for upwards of 17K or something like that? I was out at just over half that
