  1. Here are a couple of my early Planets, apologies for the bit of glare off the case
  2. Haha, as much as I appreciate the tag, I don’t own the 7.5 ? my #15 is only a 3.0, still very happy to own a copy, it’s a very tough book to acquire.
  3. I agree its a decent cover. I always thought if the aliens had been a brighter color (lime green, bright blue or something like that) that this cover would get a lot more recognition than it does.
  4. I think people will bid what they would have already bid. Likely they figure it will create a little more revenue for them that goes towards improving their bottom line.
  5. Here is my beauty, not quite as nice as Rick’s beast, but it’s no slouch ?
  6. Smoking deal! Well done Edit: haha, not sure how this post came up again??
  7. I don't feel jealousy very often, but I am feeling it right now Congrats, amazing copy
  8. Haha, I remember a former boss of mine telling a story about when she was younger and recently married. Her newlywed husband was a member of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and he had been stationed to a small rural community. On his days off he would take her to the local dump and she would shoot the rats crawling around in the garbage piles so she could practice her shooting skills!
  9. They might grad them, the marquis posters are usually huge, I thought no these are 27 by 41 or something like that
  10. I don’t think so, probably just sell them as they are ?
  11. I don’t often get to hit the garage sale circuit but got a stellar find this morning. 5 original vintage move posters dating the earliest from 1947. The Marilyn Monroe film poster is worth some substantial $$$. Grand total paid=$50 Canadian. The Heavy Metal poster I picked from someone’s garbage when they cleaned the house to move the week before=$0 for that one ?
  12. Interesting, I googled it up, looks like the McDonalds Monopoly games are also printed up to reflect the local geography as well, just like the board games.
  13. Pricing on books, especially GA non-keys is a tricky thing. So much is dependent on it being in the right sale (assuming auction sale) and having at least a couple of buyers chasing after it. Sometimes it falls under the radar, or perhaps people are just focused on other books in the sale and it sells for much less. If you want to chase after popular books, whether they be keys or cool covers (which seems to be on fire at the moment and only getting hotter for GA books) then you are going to have to pay, in some cases a lot for even a beat up copy. Price trends don't last forever and there are corrections and shifts up and down in all collectable markets, and sometimes even market collapses. I think its naïve to think that high demand Key books are going to ever be cheap again. There may be corrections, but finding that key book for a song within any major buying venue is a thing of the past. Accept it or move along to collecting another form of comics that you can enjoy. I love abstract art and paintings and I think Picasso is amazing in the work he has done. I don't grumble about not being able to afford one (which I cant). I enjoy other artists work who I can acquire and hang on my wall to enjoy.
  14. Yeah, but would it rival a beautiful Lancashire kitchen?
  15. Hi hope this works out for the seller. The buyer is being a tool in my opinion refusing to send the books forward . Is the buyer a relatively new member to the boards? This is the type of behaviour I see in inexperienced collectors who have little reputation or presence on these boards .
  16. Incredible accomplishment it takes a lot of patience and focus to put together a GA grouping like you have done. Thank you so much for sharing the story and books with us. Really looking forward to seeing the other books! Warmest Regards, Jason
  17. Woot! I was world class until I SOLD OUT....lol Maybe that is finally worthy of a custom title?
  18. Selling the top 2/3 of this run was a tough decision for me, and also an easy one. I spent a long time putting it all together and having completed the entire run was a rewarding experience for me emotionally as I was sometimes unsure if it would ever happen. Once I completed the run, many people were asking what was next? That got me thinking a lot about my priorities and what directions I could potentially take. As someone else said, we are really caretakers of these items, whether they be comics or any other beautiful or collectable item. I could certainly use the funds for other things that require my attention, and this sale will wipe out some debt that I have built up over the last few years which will bring a big relief for me emotionally and also financially. The benefits made sense and it was a easy decision on my part to do that once I committed to this path after several weeks of contemplating the decision. Although the Rivet portion of my run probably holds the most value, keeping it also allows me to still enjoy this title in a significant way and I can slowly work on upgrading issues I choose to over the upcoming months and years. I do plan on taking the promised group shot prior to sending all the books out to their new owners. Although issues #73-23 are no longer mine, it will be fun to see them all together one last time. I know many people will enjoy these books over the years, I know I did and I am glad I have been able to share my joy with members of this community Warmest Regards, Jason
