  1. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this cover. Nothing. ArAich you must be very secure in your collecting. I'm afraid to ask what the pinup looks like.
  2. Here's the International Comics #1 also $50
  3. I'm a sucker for Golden Age books. Got a call from a guy that had 3 comics from the 40's. He wanted $200 for them and listed them as International Comics #1 Blondie 42 and Marines 3. I asked for a description of the books and he says its a flamethrower on an octopus. "is the cover still attached? any pieces missing?" No and no he says. So I drive an hour each way and here's what it was. I paid much less than $200 but kind of a waste of time. Then my scanner software dies so I am testing it on this sweet book. Still good to bring out this classic cover to the collecting community. There's everything to love about this book. Hari Cari rifle shot to the head panel and other massive Marine propoganda and one of the best war covers ever. I'd sell it for $50
  4. Aah yes, the HDL communist gloves cover
  5. I'm not even going to bother with the Mplace, I hope thats not an issue on this thread specifically. Free shipping tot he US Wyatt Earp #1 $22 Whiz 100 CGC 8.5 $275 Wonder Woman 21 CGC 7.0 $250
  6. No not a 30 cent variant but I would love to have it anyway how much . When i bought it, i did think it was a variant which would have been very cool. Still a sweet book in pretty decent grade. I'll send you a PM. Ed
  7. In my search for 30 cent variants I came across this beauty for $2.
  8. Not quite the GGA thats been posted but this #1 Atlas is more Teen Humor than Military. Kind of an esoteric find.
  9. Big Kudos to ft88 again,on selling me my grail book, Avengers #4 CGC 7.5... .....and thanks for the time payments,it helped alot...... it was one of those books I always wanted, but could never get as a kid. What a great cover, here it is.. Thanks, Kudos returned. This was one that sat on comiclink for a while and the 10% fee was savings to Squid instead of the middleman. BTW here's an image of the interior page you can use if you ever need to resell it. Sometimes that helps.
  10. Here's a WDCS 50 I just bought. Funny story, a guy has a run of WDCS issues 40 to 200 and I take a look at them. Quite a few had tape on the spine and loose covers while 3 or 4 were very nice. As we start to talk prices he mentions that really, he doesn't want to sell them because he likes the stories so much. I asked if I could buy 3 or 4 but he said no, but he'll let me pick out one book to have for free for coming out to his house. As long as it didn't have one of the stories he liked. I did pay him for this book for a great price and that was that. Had to carry it home on the floor of my car as I had no bag for protection etc. Putting it on the seat guarantees I'd need to slam on my brakes. Kind of fun to see a full run of Disneys like that with no missing issues. Typical poor grades though. Usually you can buy a collection or you go home with nothing. Odd to get one only one book but its a beauty.
  11. Sorry to hear that I honestly thought he was sorry that you were keeping the FC 178. Its a book I'd love to have a shot at. Ed
  12. I assume there is resto done on the book but HMOG thats a great item. BTW, where can I get a green suit like that. I wanna look like a gangster.
  13. Kudos to Rich Henn for dropping by and picking up the books in person.
  14. I wondered how a 1940s book with such a classic cover in 9.4 could sell so low. Details on the find?
  15. Grat cover, reminds me of that classic World War cartoon (which I believe was the first cartoon to win an oscar) where the humans all die and the last two alive have the gas masks on and both kill each other. Leaving the world to all the cute woodland animals living in Communistic bliss.
  16. This just in - Repatriated in trade from Europe. Of course he got some other Disneys from me, but I like the high grade Kelly covers.
  17. Extremely impressive. Both the piece and the price. Damn Europeans.
  18. I think the 8.0 qualified copy on pedigree is a bargain given the notes. I bet the owner would take a grand if offered. Action 59
  19. Throw in a dollap of nostalgia, and a teaspoon of minimum grade (cost dependent) and there's my Bugs Bunny approach. I do understand the motivation to focus on scarcity. Its one of the reasons I get down on Silver Age on up that have been graded. In almost any grade, its not as if another one won't be available shortly. Value vs Scarcity I don't use that as much. The obvious here - that value is subjective to yourself. I value the Cartoon books much higher than the market but when I see an All Star 3 vs a Wonder #1 the All Star is easily the more impressive book to me even at the higher cost. The other reason I don't focus on scarcity is an issue with "one of a kind" items. These are tough to value and to me (an others I think) it loses some excitement because its a loner type collecitble with little sharing appreciation.
  20. Some others Brave and Bold Superman Conan Flash Gordon and Star Wars 1
