  1. There could be. Let's say Black Terror becomes the next big thing. There'd be all sorts of 1st appearances of minor characters and detailed origins etc. I think some of the obscure 1st appearances are relatively unknown and could become a surprise if demand rose significantly. Can anyone tell me Sylvestor and Tweety's first appearance? How about Yosemite Sam? When was Frazetta's very first published art done? First cover? Anything of real significance is probably already out there. Except maybe a prototype or somesuch.
  2. This one represents well. Like Detective and Action among others, it was a comic with a variety of stories - which was more typical than the solo character comics. It has a detective story, an adventure story, a funny animal story, and a superhero story. It is a key with Woody Woodpeckers 1st appearance so there is also Movie tie-in/animation crossover. It is a flag cover and a patriotic cover. And it has WWII appeal with the planes. It was the last issue of a series and the first funny animal cover prior to switching over to new Funnies (another common aspect of GA comics was titles that ended) And it is politically incorrect with 'lil 8-ball. Show me a comic that has all that.
  3. I put in a decent bid above $1000 but couldn't keep up with the big boys. With VG books going for $500+ a $1000 would have been a steal in my book. Married covers, married centerfolds, replaced staples, touch of glue or slight color touch are the closest to an unrestored as it gets. On an otherwise impossible book in high grade it's easy to overlook and bid it up. But yeah, a blue label 9.2 would probably hit $4000 or so, similar to Little Dot 1 or Richie Rich 1 type figures. Ed
  4. I can't wait to see the interior panels where "The Red Bee plunges his big knife into the killer fish!"
  5. Jeez, I'd forgotten about that creation. Guy must have been punk'd by somebody via email but you're B***Sh** radar needs to be pegged whenever you see something like this. Heck, I'm still on the fence about the Amazing Fantasy 15 art recently shown. And its at the National Library. Ed
  6. Thank you, I perform best with no competition.
  7. BZ, Can you say that the collection has all the cartoons and that they are unedited? One of my big pet peeves is the missing cartoons that they used to show and now no longer do. And also the editing. All usually for PC reasons such as an explosion leaving Daffy in black face. Or the one I'm thinking of is where the dog shoots himself in the head after he sees Bugs dead. That part is always cut out nowadays. Ed
  8. I thought I had half a trophy? ft88: /2
  9. wow, super nedor key! Here's the Origin and 1st appearance part of the story. Why keep a low/mid grade GLOD encased anyway? You'll have to buy the book to finish the story (has it been reprinted anywhere?) Is this the origin of steroids too? Or is that reserved for Captain America's secret serum. Enjoy.
  10. Lets bring back this title with a bang. Just picked this one up and on it's way to papa. Sold a bunch of SA Marvels on the boards to fund this guy. I can't wait until the movie comes out.

  13. Those are pretty amazing. How many are the highest graded copy?
  14. Let me know when that one goes up for sale. Nice book. Ed
  15. And neither did the seller. Congrats.
  16. I have this GI Joe and Transformers Limited #4. Not the best cover in the world but two is better than one.
  17. Same to you HOC, I sent a PM on a JLA 7 cover that should go with your coverless. Ed
  18. Quick question. Are there trends with double covers. In other words, is it more likely that one book will have multiple double cover examples vs another issue. At first blush it would seem that if the machine made a mistake once it would do so more than once. Ed
