  1. Not the usual suspects. I'm not sure, but I think I see a video game on this cover?
  2. If this has been posted before please redirect but I've always had a question about this books and TTA 27. Keep in mind I've never read either but I thought the story for both was basically the same. If these books came out at the same time and both books don't have a costumed sueprhero, then why is TTA 27 considered the first appearance of Antman? Did they both in powers in TTA 27 and TOS 32? If so, you'd think TOS 32 would get a little more support as a prototype book. Anyway, TTA 27 has never been on my radar but I do recognize how tough it is in high grade. But at any grade its always more than I'd ever be willing to spend. Ed
  3. Mark, Do you know why Fawcett didn't win the rights to use Flash Comics? Was DC just faster or was it a tie and DC had a better bribe. Also, really need to work on calling these something else. Ashcan gives the impression that these books are literally falling apart with brittle pages. Just my marketting brain at work. Ed
  4. Yeah, I wanted to drown that stupid dog that Aunt May owned.
  5. Some more odds and ends on buying and selling. If the comic you list for sale doesn't sell, you really don't need to ask everyone why it didn't sell. Either the price was too high, or there isn't a specific buyer for that book currently checking out the For Sale thread. Or both. That's the reason it didn't sell, not because you forgot your deoderant. Generally speaking, if your book or ones like it are consistant sellers on other venues, then your price is too high for the grade it looks (notice its not the grade you give it). Otherwise the books you have are not in demand (ie they suck) If a buyer wants a discount it really should be done once and in increments of 5% or at least $5 or greater for comics less than $100. Or ask for free postage or free extra comics but asking for $10 off a $300 book is just plain annoying.
  6. That Disney #8 book doesn't belong and isn't there a boardie who hoards KO #1's? Ed
  7. BZ - more Bugs Bunny books if you please. That'll give you a break from all the Tec fanboys. Also, if you have any of the lobby cards/ posters of the Bugs Bunny or Warner Bros cartoons those would also be grand. I figure with your focus on Bugs and your penchant for collecting pretty much everything, you might have those lying around. BTW, along with the Uncle Scrooge reference, I remember one of the early Gladstones where US is in a different section of his money bin (or possibly basement) where he has stacks of old posters and other collectibles. He says something like they would sell for $100 each and he got them for nothing or next to nothing. I can't remember if it was Barks reprint or a European rendering but it was a good story. Anyone else remember this one?
  8. From the comic Uncle Scrooge and Money (oneshot). Donald is short funds and owes Uncle Scrooge (US) 10 cent so HDL find 2 old dimes in a scrap book, one Donald brings to Scrooge and the other HDL sell for $5 to a coin shop. Donald freaks and takes $1 to buy his dime back from US and then starts buying 5 x 5 x 5 etc dimes from US when US says he has bags of them. As Donald is thinking about limitless profit, US gets wise to Donalds scheme and gives Donald a 10,000 coin bag of the "rare" coins. The look of horror on the coin store owners face is priceless as he tells Donald to bury the bag rather than swamp the market. The story has a great twist in the end which I won't spoil. The history of money portion and the interior covers of this book along with the coin stroy really make it something special. As US discovers the scheme I dont have the exact quote but he says something to the effect of "Hrrmph, Pish posh to the rare coin dealers, I'm the one who makes theses coins rare." Ed
  9. All Barks OA is good and rare. Nice piece too. Here's an interesting piece I just acquired. 1931 Adventures of Mickey Mouse with the first reference to Donald Duck. Is it a stretch to think that the duck on the far right is Donald?
  10. Hey, just 'cause you don't have a copy.....
  11. 1st appearance of the nieces April May and June, no? Or at least a minor key other than being a Giant as I recall.
  12. Asking to pick favorite Vampirella covers is like asking Homer to pick his favorite type of donut. I'd have to say that Issue 35 is the most intense out these latest ten. That cover is more sexually appealing than any nudity shot you'd ever see. Ed
