  1. #21 with IT! What a cool book.
  2. Moving from Spiderman brings out Astonishing Tales 1
  3. Nice MLJ's you can't go wrong with a single digit Jackpot. Here's my latest additions. I am told this Whiz 100 came from Geppi in the late 70's and was part of a "find". If its a pedigree and there's no way to substantiate, what else can you do.
  4. And 2 of the nicer issues 123 and 157 (no variant). The Spiderman run wasn't nearly as complete as some of the others. No issues from 90 to 102 nor 121, 129 134 or 135. A decent 122 and 136 though. These two are just stunning.
  5. Back to Bronze Age. A nice 108 black cover and a 112 which I left in the original bag he probably bought this at a store or show. $1.50 for a 9.4 112 - those were the days, early 80's maybe?
  6. Not quite Bronze but who's complaining.
  7. And here's why its the Charm City collection. About a third of the variants have the 30 cent as the OO lived his whole life in Baltimore. Unfortunately no westerns but there are some random variant titles like these two. His yarns included buying comics from Geppi when Geppi was working out of his garage. There are a few Golden Age books as well.
  8. Yes they are mostly Marvel but there was a run of Batman and then later runs of DC's with 25 cent to 60 cent covers. Green Lantern Adams run, and Strange Adv. Deadman runs. Jonah Hex, Warlord, Treasuries, etc. Plus all the campy 70's DCs like Iris, Claw etc. Only a few DC horror though and not in high grade either as I remember.
  9. Here are the classic issues with furry Beast. I was only going to post 11 and 12 but 13 had the sweet black cover and picture frame.
  10. Amazing Adventures 1 and 2. This series is a straight run up to issue 39.
  11. Charm City Collection I found and bought an amazing collection spanning the 60's through early 80's. Most of these are incredible copies especially the 15 centers on up. There are about 5000 comics, 300 magazines and various portfolios, books, and other 70s fanboy stuff. A telling aspect of the collection are the 15 Overstreets starting with issue 6. There's also a 1977 Pacific Coast order catalog. I feel kind of sheepish since there are so many stunning copies. Nearly every title is there with most of the 70's genre in complete runs. I'll be showing off a few here and putting those for sale in the proper section. I'll start with some "boring" Amazing Adventures although Amazing Spiderman is in short order. I'll comment more on the collection as I show some scans. Ed
  12. No doubt the #1 is a reprint but the others are very impressive.
  13. Did someone mention 10 cent DC Gorilla covers?
  14. OK steelcity, I see your 50+ ultra high end pedigree Supermans, and go all in with my Superman 77. Full boat, Moneymaker
  15. Thats a gorgeous book. The chip shows everyone how white the pages are.
  16. 1954 - "THEM!" A classic original Movie info and Poster shot
  17. It seems beign dragged into an anthill was quite popular back in 1961-2
  18. You're in luck. A 9.4 just made its way on ebay via the UK. http://cgi.ebay.com/DONALD-DUCK-FOUR-COL...1QQcmdZViewItem Seriously judeloo and execsec need to get a room.
  19. And here is the Donald Duck prototype sheet in the last panel. Maybe a stretch? Early appearance of Mickeys nephews and their mom Mrs Fieldmouse (Mickey's sister/aunt?). Nov 6 1932
  20. A bunch of yellow feathers Long Bill Donald Duck appearances in Mickey Mouse. Some tabloid and some cut from Full Sunday sheets. Since I don't collect MM Magazine I don't know which of these (if any) appear in the mags. Feb 17 1935 Second Donald Sunday Feb 24 1935 Mar 3 1935 Mar 24 1935 Mar 31 1935 Classic Donald Apr 7 1935 Apr 21 1935 Jun 30 1935 Red colored only Jul 21 1935 Dec 1 1935 Still yellow feathers. Long Bill but not quite as long. White feathers at this point. Feb 23 1936 Mar 1 1936 Mar 15 1936 Mar 22 1936
  21. 3 more from 1932 one with an early Peg Leg Pete Edit: now these work July 24 1932 July 31 1932 Nov 13 1932
  22. Here are some more of the newspaper Sundays. I've only put up one image the rest you can click through so it doesn't get annoying scrolling through. Sorry for the large wide shot. This is from March 13 1932 and is the oldest one I have. The first Sunday was Jan 10 1932 so thats pretty good. I can't figure out when the art shifted to Gottfredson. Anyone know? The thing about Sundays is these are the first and original comics which all the later reprints come from. The bad thing is they don't have the feeling of being on their own. If you collect them do you want the full page or just the strip? Why not the entire section or newspaper itself? The more of the paper you collect the more tedious it becomes to store and show off. Still I was happy to pick these up.
  23. 10K if unrestored and no back cover issues - just a guess. One of the best villain 1st appearance issues, if not the best. Batman and Spiderman are known for having the best villians. But this puts ASM 14 to shame. Since the Joker Luthor Magneto Loki and Red Skull are very early issues you don't get the same singularity there. Doc Ock?, Penguin? Mxytpytzik? Not in the same league. TEC 140 - top ten grail. BTW wheres the 142? A much better Riddler cover IMO. Less common, more likely unrestored and a better value.
