  3. In James Halperin's collection, splash from "Food for Thought" by Al Williamson and Roy Krenkel from Incredible Science Fiction 32 is on my list of greatest splash pages of all time. The inking is among the best that I have ever seen.
  4. I have three copies of this issue, since it contains "Precious Years."
  5. My favorite cover. Pales in comparison to MrBedrock's Gaines File copy. OA from my favorite story, "Precious Years" drawn by Wally Wood from WS19. Just had this scan handy and tribute to the late Al Feldstein.
  6. GAtor, What do you think are the price points for Tec 40 blue and PLOD? I need one for the last of my GA Joker covers. Thanks! I greatly appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge with us.
  7. Agreed. I think the security/insurance question is the one that still remains to be addressed. I think he's made it clear he doesnt have any specific or unique contacts with dealers or other markets, nor does he have experience. And the education question may be self evident, but I'll let him answer it. you're right I don't have any contacts but I do have a notable person that I became friends with so that I can learn from him some of you may know him Rick Whitelock GAtor, 21 year old noob, who knows little about comics, is dropping your name.
  8. I don't drink vanilla coke zero Reg coke zero, now that's a diff story ! Rick, Don't worry. I am be Bitter and Old, but I am not senile yet. Vanilla Coke Zero is tough to find in San Francisco, but I know where to find some. Vanilla Coke Zero for Mrs. GAtor and Caffeine Free Coke Zero for Mr GAtor.
  9. Since I am driving down, just tell me how many cases of each. There are several places I can find Vanilla Coke Zero. One store is only ten blocks away from home and there are several on the way through Los Angeles. I can bring a bucket of ice from the Marquis each morning. I will PM you when we get closer to SDCC.
  10. GAtor, You need a better avatar. Anybody volunteer to bring you cases of Vanilla Coke Zero at SDCC? I will have exhibitor badges, a car, and a room at the Marquis. I am staying from Monday to Monday. PM me if you need anything.
  11. Il nostro amico italiano, The first Saturday of May is designated Free Comic Book Day. The local comic book stores give out free comic books to entice youngsters into becoming regular customers. http://www.freecomicbookday.com/Home/1/1/27/992 Lo amo l'Italia. A proposito, ho prenotato una copia di ogni variante per voi. PM me il vostro indirizzo postale. Io li invio a voi il Mercoledì. I migliori auguri.
  12. Finally, I own a copy of Cap 33. My favorite covers are Cap 3, 33, 37, and 41.
  13. Got my copy off one of last year's CL auctions. Indeed, I found SS4 to be a tough book to track down. One of Baker's best covers and he drew many. I have not seen any at the last few SDCC and NYC.
  14. The Jerry Robinson Collection was purchased by All Star Auctions owned by Joe and Nadia Mannarino. http://allstarauc.com/JerryRobinsonPedigree.html You can see the left side of a Cap #3 in the photo. Try contacting Joe and Nadia, who are really nice people. I purchased one of the Batman #1.
  15. Why u got to be so bitter!? I am bitter because I didn't buy one of your Cap 33s in SDCC several years ago. You were really amused by the yellow colored German helmets on the cover. I did not realize at the time that you were The GAtor.
  16. I use a Golden Rod dehumidifier. Plug in and forget about it. http://www.goldenroddehumidifiers.com/
  17. I have the mechanical Sargent and Greenleaf combination lock, rather than electronic. The mechanical locked can be key locked. I saw a Fort Knox Safe with both mechanical and electronic locks. The safe should be bolted down. The seller installed the safe in few minutes, by himself with a small dolly. Even a one ton safe that is not bolted down can be moved with a dolly.
  18. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7065518&fpart=1 Purchase a decent sized safe. I have a Fort Knox Safe bolted to the foundation with golden rod humidity control. Fort Knox Safes costs around $2k and up. I also have a monitored burglar alarm with motion detection. You can still cut the top off using a Sawzall with diamond blade. I keep my power tools locked up separately from my safe.
  19. Jerry Robinson copy purchased in 2012 from All Star Auctions. The spine is completely split, but I love it. Jerry Robinson had three copies, and GAtor got the best copy as usual. I'm going to keep this until I die or go senile, whichever comes first.
  20. Love the FC 199. 9.4 is the second highest graded copy. I feel fortunate to own an 8.5. Thanks for sharing. All duck books are terrific. I enjoy them more than my superhero, and horror, and science fiction books.
  21. Of course, I am on my second PS2 and second PS3, which really helps the sales numbers. None of my other consoles died out, starting from Atari 2600.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_Hollinger http://www.ebay.com/gds/1st-Comic-Collector-Dealer-POP-HOLLINGER-/10000000000009986/g.html Google?
  23. nope. Didn't sell much of anything at NYcc Several folks have posted pics of our wall. I took some pics and could upload tomorrow if anyone wanted to see [font:Times New Roman]The lower case c's say a lot. BTW, did you dine with the Verzyl's at Stage Deli Saturday night? Besides funny books, what I missed most by not making the trip this year was dining out with friends. [/font] +1 (thumbs u Stage Deli closed last year. I only bought three comics and one was TWD variant cover from Filter's daughter, who was out in the aisles selling comics. The other two were Canteen Kate 3 from Dale and TFTC 24 from Terry O'Neill.
