  1. It's not one of a kind painted covers is it? They're doing that with the mask and they're a grand each.
  2. comics at one time were suppose to be read.. Comixology (thumbs u But you can't beat reading a book in your hands.
  3. That Bedlam #4 is an awesome cover. Got mine ordered already
  4. There has been tiny whispers of exactly that one whisper I've heard from 2 different sources but we'll just have to wait and see what happens I guess. It's more important to me that Revival develops a strong following for it's book alone in the future anyway. Realistically how many TV shows/movies etc. actually come to fruition?
  5. I just cant bring myself to do it. I hope it sells well for you Larry, but there so far as a comic book collector I will go and this book just crosses the line for me. I am sure I am missing out but I just cant do it. There has got to be some other boardies thinking along the same lines. I'm with you there. I have to have some kind of connection to the books I'm buying and this one doesn't appeal to me at all. How can a book that's aimed at little girls appeal to grown men? $65 Variants wouldn't be aimed at 7 year old girls that's for sure. Surely they would read the regular book and that would be it.
  6. There has been tiny whispers of exactly that
  7. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Personally I'd rather wait and pay a little more for a great copy..
  8. Bumping the price mid way through the con was definitely dodgy but I guess they can charge what they want when they want. Do you think the number of variants will stop? I really hope they stick to one regular issue after #1. It's a great book, but too many variants might kill it.
  9. Not sure if you read the page i linked to and are just going by what iceman told you, but You also have to be submitting like 50+ books. It depends. If you intend on pressing your books and then grading them, you can get a pre-screen with as little as 10 books.
  10. Do tell... +1 spill it... even via PM?
  11. [font:Book Antiqua]Don’t worry, if you keep investing your money this way you will don’t have anything else to eat...[/font] OR i could sell my 12 Chew #1's, 25 Thief of thieves #1, 22 Saga #1, 3 Walking dead #1, 6 Y the Last Man #1 Pow!
  12. Has everyone seen the 22 page preview at Comixology? It's one hell of a preview and it's totally free. Check it out if you already haven't.
  13. My guess is there's no word of mouth outside of this board. I have strong feeling Bedlam will be there same... Revival is getting lots of good buzz and has routinely sold out at all the comic shops in Pittsburgh and South Eastern Ohio. It's release on the same day as Walking Dead 100 worked to its advantage. The sketch cover is solid and the 1:10 and Third Eye variants are solid. The general cover is a good buy in nm/m at $10 ... I know lots of smart buyers who have been picking up all the covers raw for SS and while I'm not obsessed with the comic like many on the board, I think it's going to continue to pick up new readers. The writing's great and the art is great. It's a great book. I'm afraid that you have some unreal expectations because of the success of comics like Thief of Thieves and Saga. I've read the comixology preview of Bedlam and I think it's going to be a solid book. I don't know that we'll see prices like Thief of Thieves, but I'm confident that it will do well in the retail and secondary market as long as it comes out on a regular basis and maintains the quality of the first 22 pages I read. I certainly don't have unreal expectations with this book. I'm in for the long haul with it. I was simply asking for other peoples opinions about the sharp drop in prices. I'm not jumping ship, that's for sure.
  14. Why are prices dropping on the #1's at the moment? There seems to be a sharp decline in prices in the last few weeks. A 9.8 can be bought for $59 on the Bay at the moment.
  15. Out of the 500, I wonder if boardies picked up the lions share of them? There seems to be quite a few floating around on the sales threads. They don't last too long though....
  16. I would presume that the producer would have had long discussions with Grant Morrison and knows the whole story. He wouldn't have picked up the book, read it, and decided to make a movie. It doesn't work that way. even if the producer knew the whole story and talked with Grant, that is STILL a BIG GAMBLE....... Isn't everything a gamble? I'm sure the people involved know what they're doing. No one has called this book the next Walking Dead, that's just ridiculous.
  17. Yeah I saw that but I'm not keen on forking out 150 bucks. I'd be surprised if it sells at that price. Hopefully some turn up at a later date.
  18. On the movie development news, a quote from Bleeding Cool: "According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is still in development and the producers have not yet approached a studio or financiers. The path to production may be eased if next month’s release of RZA’s directorial debut The Man With The Iron Fists does well. With a very promising trailer and a cast that includes Lucy Liu and Russell Crowe, We're hoping that it will". The Man With the Iron Fists trailer
  19. I would presume that the producer would have had long discussions with Grant Morrison and knows the whole story. He wouldn't have picked up the book, read it, and decided to make a movie. It doesn't work that way.
  20. I think that's all you could expect for a 9.4 realistically. I wouldn't have bothered selling it personally but each to their own....
  21. As long as they don't do the variant thing with EVERY issue... Thinking I'll just stick to the first prints on this one.
  22. I really wish there were no variants. They'll render the regular edition worthless.
  23. I'm guessing more people will pick this up now that something is in development.
