  1. UG comix mentions that they have a reprint guide but I can't find it! All there is on the page are outdated links and outdated eBay sales. I don't think the site has been updated since 2007..

    COMIX reprint guide

Use the A-Z "keypad" on that page to find the books you are looking for. As far as the page not being updated, most of the information there is still accurate other than recent discoveries made by collectors like 50 Cent here, who has done a lot of great research on undergrounds.

I didn't see the keypad! That's exactly what I was looking for as far as recognising 1st prints. eBay sellers sell a lot of "first prints" that aren't

    .

  2. I'm new to underground comic collecting and I was wondering if you good folks could point me in the direction of some good underground websites and places where to pick up some books. I'm currently trying to get a run of Zaps and other Crumb stuff but I want to broaden out more and a bit more knowledge would be great!

It's tough to find information on underground stuff and not many people make it their focus but I love the historical and rebellious attitude of the books...

    Thanks :)

  3. Wow..brand new topic and 1st responder has nothing to add except make silly acusations. Whatsmh...smh...sad, very sad.

They've been around a lot longer than you and have seen ridiculous threads pumping up bad books just for the sake of it many, many times. Pre Heat? What a pointless thread... The modern forum used to be interesting once.

    :preach:

    Go home Grandpa, your drunk.

Get of my lawn you young punk rantrant

  4. Every time someone mentions GOTG as the new watermark for greatness I feel like I'm in a parallel Universe.

I know a few non comic book people that aren't into "superhero movies" that loved GOTG. It was different and fresh and didn't take itself to seriously.

  5. So 2 day binge then wait a year or more for new episodes....I guess it's no different than watching a movie and waiting 1.5 years for the sequel

Rewatch the show! Whenever the new seasons of House of Cards comes out, my wife and I rematch the season slowly for about a month leading up to it.

Have that many people never binge watched a show? There seems to be a lot of confusion with it. I haven't had cable for years so my wife and I have been binge watching shows for the last 7 or 8 years, I guess.

I always binge watch. I watched 5 seasons of breaking bad in about 4 weeks. It gives the series a lot more flow that way I think. I'm sure there's heaps of people who watch shows that way...

  6. Just watched the first two episodes. Pretty decent, I'll probably watch the whole season, not just tonight.

I haven't watched any of the other comic book TV shows, though both Agent Carter and Gotham sound interesting. How would folks rank those in comparison to Daredevil?

I will consider Agent Carter as a waste of time if you compare it to DD

Yeah. There's nothing really to compare to DD. Agent carter I thought was better than Agents of Shield at least.

Gotham is a great show. DD is a lot darker and has a completely different feel though

  7. The Ben Affleck movie was PG-13. I don't think the TV series is rated.

I'm actually a bit annoyed at all of the easter eggs that get sort of shoved in your face and then never alluded to again.

Don't read this spoiler if you haven't watched all 13 eps.

*the black sky. What the heck is the kid? And why doesn't Daredevil even attempt to track him down. Once the yakuza abscond with "the weapon" code named Black Sky, he seems to completely forget all about it. And so does Stick, despite his warnings that Black Sky needed to be destroyed and could only be done with the help of DD. Rotten Easter egg.

The symbol on the heroin packs is that of Steel Serpent, foe of Iron Fist. But we don't see Steel Serpent in this show at all! The heroin we gather from Fisk's comments that Madam Gao is not only cutting and distributing the heroin but also importing it. AND furthermore, she tells Leland that she is leaving and when he asks if she's going back to China she says "A place much further"...Could she be alluding to the inter-dimensional city of K'un L'un? c'mon! Super power injection time! GAH!

The Leland gets his neck snapped! WTF! Way to kill any introduction of the Owl. And what a great low-powered villain for a Daredevil type character to face in a TV show. His superpower which requires a regularly consumed serum, allows him to glide short distances. But granted, the Leland who gets his neck snapped is a bit old for doing acrobatic moves, and maybe this will lead to his son (maybe his son is also named Leland Owlsley...though that would probably make him Leland Owlsley Jr.) that could face Daredevil in a future episode (???) doh! Another dropped egg left to spoil.

Why allude to Nobu, but don't bring up the Hand? Couldn't they have just tossed in a few guys in ninja attire in the heroine processing plant to allude to it a bit? They kept using the Yakuza again and again, why not bring up the ancient faction of the Hand? Another missed opportunity to expand the universe.

Who was the 'roided out seated guy that Stick is addressing? Why have an awesome scene like that where they allude to Murdoch not being ready, and then let it go completely flat. I bet that guy would have made for an awesome boss battle!

Ep 6. Who is the sniper? On another discussion board, they pointed out that you can clearly spot a deck of cards when the sniper on the roof working for Fisk starts to assemble his rifle at around 34 mins in. Maybe that's Bullseye, but if so, he's stinking up the place, because the cop that he's supposed to kill actually lives. Also, if it's bullseye, why not have a bullseye in his bag instead of a deck of cards? I know he likes cards, but...uh....no.

Ep 10 (I think) there's this whole 5 minute build-up where Murdock tracks down the guy (potter) that makes the armor for fisk and convinces him to make him his Daredevil armor. And in the last 10 minutes of Ep. 13 we see the result, but why?! At no point after getting the armor was Daredevil stabbed. So they could have just had him wear a spandex suit. Also, does Daredevil ever follow through on his promise to Potter? There's just him saying "I'll do my best". What the heck?! Waste of screen time IMO. And the more I look at that body armor costume, the more I hate it.

Given that there at least four more series to come from Netflix/Marvel - probably five, as I can't see the success of this one not earning a second season - it makes perfect sense to drop foreshadowing all over the place. Throwing everything including the kitchen sink into the first 13 episodes of a long-term commitment and bringing it to a neat conclusion would be fairly dumb.

    (thumbs u

There needs to be unanswered questions to hold everyone's interest.

  8. I hate every super hero tv show so far.

I like the strain because its goofy.

    But this is brilliant.

Not very Frank Miller, but Frank Miller inspired and VERY Bendis Daredevil Run.

    I love it.

That Bendis Daredevil run was what got me back into comic books after 15 years out of it. I had my fingers crossed that this show would reflect that as much as possible and thankfully they have done a great job...

  9. A well made TV show.

    I can probably describe it like this;

Something like "The Flash" is like an extended movie made for teenagers with a ridiculous plot whereas DD is more set on character development and is definitely made for adults and has more realistic plots and fight scenes.

Only 2 episodes in but Marvel has done a great job with DD

not sure I'd call The Flash's plot ridiculous....having a great time watching that one. Like a goo dripping into a kids eyes and giving him extra sensory powers isn't ridiculous.

lol Yeah they're both ridiculous but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at. Never said I didn't like the Flash either but it's a more fun show to watch and it's aimed at a younger audience.
